32 oz Growler (yeah I'm extreme)
Calusa Snifter

Surprisingly not as inky as I'd figured, but still black, with brown edging and some beige head about 1/2 finger tall, receding to a thin ring.

Aroma of burnt malt, fusels, rubber cement, chocolate, dark chocolate, dark fruit, paint, and earth.

Flavor brings acrid intensity, with heavy prune and other dark fruits, cabernet, with dark chocolate, banana, intense roasted malts, ethanol, and slight nail polish remover.

Feel is heavy and burning, almost like a jalapeno, due to the alcohol content of this beer. Usually Avery stuff (the only other brewer I know that consistently does beers this high) is smoother, but the detectable alcohol in the taste and feel is permissible. Heavy tingling at the finish, makes the gums numb. Some roasted dryness. Sticky.

Overall, impressive if only for the ABV. It's not a top tier stout for me, but it's still good. You get instantly fuzzy headed after the third or fourth full sip. I think if one wants to get drunk, the 32 oz Growler for $9.99 at my local Hy-Vee can't be beat. Tell the paper bag paupers to invest in a glass growler and get crunked.

A: The beer is very dark brown in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head.
S: Moderate aromas of chocolate syrup and dark fruits are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and is very chocolatey (without roastiness or maltiness) and also has notes of dark fruits.
M: It feels full-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. The alcohol lends a little warmth to the mouthfeel.
O: This beer tastes strong but does a very good job at masking most of the alcohol from the taste.

-Look is black.
-Poured a generous light to medium tan head. Settles to a thick cap thru out. Slick spotty lace.
-Nose is strong with sweet cocoa and booze. Dark fruit such as blackberries, plums & figs.
-Taste follows nose but with more coffee and dark chocolate. Sweet, boozy & roasted flavors. Little to no bitterness.
-Body is thick and creamy. A bit sticky. Covers your mouth like syrup. Finish is sweet and wet with minor abv heat.
Slow sipper.

On tap. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a very small, tan head of foam. It smelled boozy with roasted malt, toffee, dark chocolate and coffee. Sweet with chocolate, toffee and molasses. Very sweet. Very little roastiness.

Brickway Epic Blackout Stout, 17% ABV, 70 IBU. Pours black with a one finger brown head. Nose is alcohol and dark fruit, taste follows, quite sweet, and almost no bitterness. Pretty boozy of course. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Pitch black tar, dark tan head. Syrupy sweet - like dark chocolate syrup, with one of the stickiest bodies I've ever had. Ridiculous. All that sweetness hides any overly boozy notes, but the finish is still relatively hot. Had a few kegs of this at my bar and it never fails to sell for the ABV alone. Not my favorite imperial stout, but one to try for sure.
