Cask conditioned at a local festival

Pours with a dark amber, almost brown body, creamy head forms with good retention and lots of lacing

Smell, hints of strong fruity esters are present, some fruity phenols

Taste, first flavours consist of strong esters of dried fruit, tastes quite alcoholic considering the abv, malty body and hop finish

A great little ale, one i'll look out for

This brew is being shared with fellow BA Stopper and is a treat from his recent trip to Scotland. Sampling is in a pint glass of a chilled sample. The beer pours a clear copper color with a small off white head foaming up and fading. Aroma is caramle and toffee dominant. Not really any hop presence to speak of. First sip reveals a lite bodied vrew with small tingly carbonation. Flavor is caramel and toffee with some general sweetness present as well. Again no hops to be found. The finish is a little empty but is clean and smooth. beer is very easy to drink and refreshing.

Appearance: The bottle and label are pretty plain. When the beer was poured it looked a bit muddy. There was no head to speak of and low carbonation.

Smell: Very malty and peaty but going nowhere fast

Taste: A pleasant taste, the malt was clearly present but there were also hints of spice.

Mouthfeel: Fine

Drinkability: It's a good beer, not a great beer. The bottle I sampled bears a sticker 'Tesco Beer Challenge Winner'. This must have beaten some bad beers to be called a champion.

Dark brown. Tons of caramel and toasted malts.
