A Tavour Treat. Poured dark brown with a very foamy tan head (which may have been due to the struggle to open it through the white wax top. Aroma of black coffee and roasted malts. Taste is nuts, coconut, chocolate and vanilla. When it warms up it is almost like an Almond Joy candy bar. Not sweet and not to bitter at the end. Smooth and creamy .

Color is onyx and retains a mocha bubble ring.
Chocolate notes and vanilla, also some char, and a small waft of anise.
Very subtle bourbon notes, some nuttiness, Chocolate, would be
A stretch to say I taste more than just a smidgen of coconut, but that's okay.
Thick and rich stoutsmooth long finish.
Glad to try this, good smooth ris.

Pours pitch black, completely opaque, and somewhat viscous. Thinnish, mocha colored head shows weak retention. Ultimately there is just a thin ring of foam along the outside of the top of the beer. The aroma has notes of oak, roasted malts, moderate hoppy notes, some light cocoa and vanilla notes. The aroma is kind of bland.

The flavor profile is much more complex than the nose would imply. The profile brings with it roasted malts, maple, coconut, bourbon, and oak. There are notes of chocolate, vanilla, and some light earthy hops. Although it does have both vanilla and toasted coconut in it, its is utilized sparingly with balance. The flavors are there, but in such a way that compliments the base stout rather than dominating it. My biggest complaint is that the barrel presence in this is really subdued. I want more of that oak and bourbon coming through in the profile. Feel is fuller bodied, smooth, with a slight warming sensation. Moderately carbonated. Semi-dry on the finish.

Overall it is a very solid barrel aged beer.

650 mL bottle. Black body. Smells of bourbon and coconut and a little banana. Tastes of bourbon and coconut. Roasted malt. Toasted oak. Finishes with banana. Not heavy, but a little boozy. It's good.

Had this beer on tap at the brewery in July of this year. Writing the review from notes. I suspected that this beer and their 7th anniversary stout was switched at the brewery. After opening and drinking a bomber of the anniversary stout, I am certain that is what happened. Hence my review of this beer now.

Poured from tap. Dark brown color with good head and lacing. Strong coconut smell and taste. Flavors of dark chocolate and dark sweet berries. I like the 7th anniversary stout better.

Excellent beer. While being barrel aged, the fact doesn't take over the entire beer. Really great vanilla & coconut flavor. Reminds me a touch of liquid mounds bar. Also pick up some burnt butter, honey, pecans, marshmallow. Would buy again as the price for a bomber wasn't crazy at $16

White waxed 22 oz. bomber split with my wife while watching “Die Hard” for the 25th time. There is a fair amount of rust around the edge of the cap & inside the wax.

BLACK. Little if any head. Gentle vanilla is all that presents to the nostrils.

Language of Thunder – Cumulus is excruciatingly dull. Touch of vanilla, touch of maltiness, fair amount of roast, otherwise just thin black water. Perhaps the barrel & coconut leached into the glass? Or was subject to an ancient curse? Thin. Three ounces would have been fine to render judgment.

Which wouldn’t be good. This is either a bad bottle or other reviewers had too much cocaine before they popped the top. Mediocre to the extreme.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a half finger chocolate brown head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bourbon, vanilla, molasses and coconut. Flavor follows, with dark toasted malt, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, dark chocolate, a little molasses and nuts. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess. Well, this is the real thing. The aroma is rich from the pour into the glass and the flavor tracks it closely. The bourbon barrel character are the first strong flavor, then the vanilla and coconut are revealed, with a nice bourbony chocolate finish with lingering coconut. Coconut deftly handled; the whole stout is well balanced. Smell, flavor and mouth feel are all stellar. Well done. What a great introduction to this Alabama brewery.

Brownish black pour, brown ring. Big vanilla and coconut with bourbon backing in the nose. Taste has this same combo, but halfway through the sip it drops off quickly, light malt is all that is left standing by the end. Feel is light and thin, barrel presence is limited, dry finish is appreciated. Good jolt of vanilla and coconut with accenting bourbon, but want more depth.

Brewery pour at TrimTab

Heavy thick black with a mocha colored head of 1/2 finger.

Aromas of deep fudge, thick coconut, marshmallow brownie, whiskey. This is incredible.

Good night. This beer is lights out good. Tons of fudge and toasted coconut, marshmallow, brownies, brown sugar, vanilla, melted chocolate chips, deep roasted malt, whiskey barrel, oak, and even more fudge.

Feel is perfect. Assaults the palate with acidic burn and whiskey burn both, completely destroys it, and has a sticky finish with heavy warming alcohol.

Overall, I may not be walking out of here with any 4-packs tonight, but I will be walking out with a few bottles of this motherf**ker. Nothing short of incredible. It's like a barrel aged marshmallow brownie.

Pours nice and black with. A thing brown head, it settles quickly. The snell is of vanilla frosted brownies. The taste has a nice sweet chocolate flavor with vanilla in the finish. The feel is thinner than I like. Overall it’s still a very good Stout.

White wax capped 22oz bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 20.99. 2018 vintage. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku. Enjoyed 12/20/18.

Pours pitch black with a short and short-lived tan head. A few sparce bubbles linger for a bit before even they fade awat. A few pale floaties marr the edges of an otherwise dead black pool.

Smells fantastic. Vanilla, toasted coconut, bourbon and caramel.

This stuff is delicious! There’s an amazing balance of coconut and vanilla flavors that remain dominant throughout. Dark chocolate fudge, bourbon, cooked caramel, wet oak, brown sugar and some slightly boozey caramalized dark fruit. The layers of flavor compliment each other quite well.

Smooth, velvety, medium full feel with an initial tingle of zippy carbonation that fades quickly. The aftertaste is like chocolate covered coconut in bourbon vanilla ice cream.

Trimtab has me floored with this release. Cumulus is an outstanding barrel aged stout that does a significantly better job than most in delivering the two notoriously elusive flavors of coconut and vanilla. I sure hope there is more available...

Pours dark, almost black with a tan head of foam that settles as quickly as it rises. Not much lace initially, but I expect more as it warms.

Lots of sweet, dark fruit and chocolate on the nose. Getting some oak and barrel on the back burner, and it balances everything nicely. Complex but smooth.

Sweet chocolate bursts out to the forefront, followed by more of that dark fruit. On the backbone of this beer is a present malt bill, light oak, and a subtle boozy finish. As it settles and warms, an apparent nuttiness comes forth as well. Vanilla has mostly fallen off, but there are still nice hints that can be picked out.

Good mouthfeel, retained a decent carb level as well. Warming, lightly boozy, sticky finish.
