Pours dark, almost black with a tan head of foam that settles as quickly as it rises. Not much lace initially, but I expect more as it warms.

Lots of sweet, dark fruit and chocolate on the nose. Getting some oak and barrel on the back burner, and it balances everything nicely. Complex but smooth.

Sweet chocolate bursts out to the forefront, followed by more of that dark fruit. On the backbone of this beer is a present malt bill, light oak, and a subtle boozy finish. As it settles and warms, an apparent nuttiness comes forth as well. Vanilla has mostly fallen off, but there are still nice hints that can be picked out.

Good mouthfeel, retained a decent carb level as well. Warming, lightly boozy, sticky finish.

Poured into a snifter. An opaque brown color with a modest tan head. Milk chocolate and coconut in the nose. A great tasting pastry stout with all of the above. Smooth and silky, easy drinking.

A dark gloppy pour yields a stark black body with a thin mocha foam that settles to a creamy dark mocha collar.

Smell does not hide the toasted coconut and delectable vanilla, developing a just baked brownie aroma with dark chocolate fudge.

Toasty dark malt and charred bourbon barrel combine with expressive vanilla and coconut flavors that simulate a campfire roasted marshmallow effect. A little sting from bourbon rolls in gently, allowing room for a dark cocoa earthiness. An aftertaste of char and roast come out in the exhale, and some dark fruit and raisin develops as it warms.

The medium-thin body has a crisp, mildly thickening fizz, finishing chewy dry.
