Visited on a Sunday evening. One of the few places open after 7pm.
V - a very open bright place. I sat outside. There is a nice patio right next to one of the grain storage bins. A bit of a rookie crowd that tonight. 3.75
Q - The beer is made on premise. Everything I ordered was served in a shaker pint.
Ser - Appropriately friendly. Maybe a bit slow. Not necessarily knowledgeable about a very limited set of offerings. 3.75
Sel - Just Freehouse beers. Slightly above average with a focus almost entirely on standard American styles. 3.5

Visited on a recent work trip to Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
Tried the following:
Insight Devil's Companion (draft)
The Freehouse #41 ESB (draft)
The Devil’s Companion was delicious while the ESB was sub-par. Tap selection was decent but nothing spectacular. Didn’t eat here. Nice gastropub atmosphere; fairly quiet on my visit. Service left something to be desired as the bartender seemed disengaged and he disappeared after I finished my first beer. My overall experience was average, and I’m not sure I would come back.

Airy but relatively small brewpub in the happening Warehouse district of Minneapolis. Industrial chic decor, and surprisingly not that many tables for diners (food here is better than the beer). Beware, it is popular and so is usually pretty crowded.
Servers were great and fast, but we didn't have time to talk brews. Only 8 of their beers on tap, half of which were IPAs, and every beer had next to no head and zero lace. Flavor-wise the beers are above average, but the odd appearance and over-carbed mouthfeel of their entire lineup is suspect. They do have a full bar and guest taps too, however.
They have a neat patio when weather permits. They fill growlers and crowlers. Very family friendly, provided you're here during the right time (noisy and crowded at night).
Cool place with a good location. Just wish the beer was better.

Good looking place with ample parking. It was packed on a weeknight before Christmas. The service was a little slow, but helpful. The beer was good. It was the food that was really impressive. Bahn Mi was great.

this is a neat spot, i actually rolled in for dinner not knowing they made their own beer. they have a smallish operation off to the side of the multilevel restaurant, very modern decor and lighting, very urban and cool, loaded with younger professional looking people, but i didnt feel out of place cruising in a little buzzed up with a flannel and some flip flops on. they have great food here, i had some thai pork dish that i really liked, but i could have gotten anything on the menu and been satisfied, all the food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. they had a somewhat limited selection of beers, but the couple i had here were actually outstanding. a coffee stout from the cask was the clear winner for me, but they were all quite tasty. i feel like there isnt a lot of hype around these guys right now, and i wonder why, they beer was solid and the food was excellent. maybe a little pricey in here, but thats just the clientele you know? hip and cool at the same time (the two sometimes do not align in my experience), with underrated beer. i spent a good couple of hours in here getting loose, and i would do it again...

In the heart of northloop, Freehouse has a hugh open concept inside with a bar just to the right . and a pretty nice area for sitting outside. The vibe here was nice lots of people dressed from casual to almos formal a nice mix, Beer however is just plain average had 3 different taps and only 1 was semi-good. Service was below average but the food was above average. Nice place to see and be seen to people watch and to eat as appetizers and entrees were very good but not a place to go for the beer.

This place has home brewed amateur overpriced beer. The service is extremely poor. The overall vibe and food are solid but other than that, it blows...hard

The Freehouse is nice!!! Maybe a slight bit upscale for the standard pub....but a great place to take clients of a hot chick on a Saturday night. The beer and food were both very good with the food being slightly better than the beer. The service was great. There was 12 beers on tap and the food menu had something that everyone can enjoy. The food was fantastic....we had lettuce wraps, wings, and humus for starters....then I hade the spinach quinoa salad with Chicken.....AMAZING.

Above average beers, but nothing mind blowing. Usually several styles to choose from on tap - including some guest taps. Food better. Creative and delicious dishes. Unique versions of comfort food to oysters on the half shell.

The Freehouse is a bistro brewpub in Minneapolis's warehouse district. They have 7 of their own beers on tap, 4 or 5 standards and a couple of specials. They also have 8 guest taps featuring quality brews from the likes of Odell, Stillwater, Unibroue, and Goose Island. Their food is excellent.

Was there during happy hour; $4 house beers and $5 appetizers. (Sorry, "Beer Bites")
This place is both a brewpub and a restaurant. I had the carmelized brussel sprouts and the Korean riblets (both off the happy hour menu) as a dinner after biking there. The sprouts were pretty good and they tossed some dates in as well - which sounded weird, but actually worked. Overall the dish was a little too oily. Riblets were fine, not outstanding but decent. I only skimmed the rest of the menu, but my general sense was that they were working too hard to be "cute" and "different" but without any real theme. (both in the nomenclature - "Yesterday's soup"??? - and in the dish contents).
I only had one beer (the $4 stout) but they had around 9 house beers and several guest taps on; a respectable selection. I didn't see a flight option per se, but they sell ponys and middys as well as pints.
Most of my taproom/restaurant experience this summer has been as biking destinations; Freehouse was just a smidge "nicer" than most of the places I wander into slightly disheveled and sweaty. No bike racks in the front, and only one or two bikes in the general vicinity (as opposed to many of the other taprooms that have bike racks, usually with a fair number of bikes present, and which I feel perfectly comfortable walking into after an hour or two of riding). So for me that was somewhat negative but if one is looking for a nice meal out it would work the other way.
Probably most folks know this, but Freehouse is a member of the Blue Plate group, that also includes Edina Grill, 3 Squares, etc.

I really dislike the atmosphere on The Freehouse. It feels like a douchy, ptretnsious suburban chain restaurant. The employee uniforms (Canadian tuxedo with suspenders) only adds to this feeling.
The beer, however, is solid. I haven't had a great beer at Freehous, but I haven't had a garbage one either.
The service is solid too in spite of their uniforms.
