This beer arrives a clear copper color. The head is small, and recedes quickly into sparse lacing. The aroma is dank and tart with fruity notes of raspberries and blackberries. The taste is similar, but with a bit more tartness. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied with appropriately high carbonation. Overall, this is a good Berliner.

a decent berliner but nothing special, probably my least favorite of the three beers i had from these guys. its mucky in appearance, thick and loaded with sediment, sure it has a nice head and some visible carbonation, but its a little more raw than i like to see, although retention and lacing is pretty. it smells one dimensional, a too warm lactic starter and more apple and compost than lemon and freshness to the yeast aspect. the wheat base seems thin and under flavored, although its freshness cannot be debated. i think the acidity is roughly correct, and it has a mild hop flavor in the finish, but there really isnt quite as much going on here as i look for in the style, even with the acid, and as easy drinking as it is, its pretty average overall. a good compliment to some of their more flavorful food though (the food is better than the beer here in my experience), spicy lamb skewers and the wild mushroom pizza both were good pairings with this beer. out of a food context though, im not sure this one has much value. needs more carbonation at the very least...

The Berlinerweisse beer is different....not a huge fan of this style but still enjoyed the sample. It poured a cloudy yellow with white head that left some lacing. The scent and taste carried sour and funky fruitiness. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall the tartness is not overpowering thus making it somewhat drinkable.
