A rather tasty (and fresh, at nine days post-bottling) IPA hinting of grapefruit. Would buy again, Ohio micros are becoming quite on-point. This one does not disappoint in the least.

A: cloudy gold ale, a couple of fingers of foam - some lace trailing down the glass...

S: flower and pine, biscuit and bread; something grassy and reminiscent of fields

T: bready biscuit and pale malt, lots of floral hop action; suggestions of fresh grains and juicy flowers; pine assertiveness rising throughout the drink

M: light-medium, medium carbonation, mild bitterness up front builds up over time

O: a real nice IPA, plenty of hops, nice wholesome unfiltered stuff; ample grain to balance the hops

I have had this beer so many times and find it to be outstanding. Tonight I waited at a restaurant while they tapped a new keg and it was the best I ever had. A pint with about a two finger head which is unusual probably indicating how fresh it was. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is mango, tangerine and pineapple. Mouth feel and body on tap is so creamy more so than the bottle.
My favorite go to never disappoints.

I think Simcoe hops just jumped into my top 5!!! Wow!! What flavor!!

Great yellow/gold color. Smell is natural pine forest. Not s beer. I just get nature (close your eyes and your at a mountain lake) ...for real.

Ok lacing. Head dissipates quickly, but who cares....tastes so good. Nice bitterness and not too heavy.

Just finished a Deuschutes Pine Hop and I'm ranking this one almost a point higher.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/3/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy/citrus peel bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, melon, lemon/orange rind, pine, honey, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.3%. Overall this is a fantastic IPA! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced bitterness. Very bright and pretty juicy/dank on hop flavors. A highly enjoyable offering.

Thanks to Eziel for this trade!
Poured from a 12oz bottle (bottled on the 210th day of 2015) into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
LOOK: Pours with a finger's worth of off-white foam that halves itsleft after 45 seconds. Rising bubbles are still in high numbers after the head settles. Honey orange in color. Lacing is high, but very thin.
SMELL: Strong aromas of gummy fruit snacks first catch my attention. Beneath those lie mild aromas of piney hops and sweet bready malts and subtle aromas of mangos and peaches.
TASTE: Mild piney hops and fruit snack gummy flavors along with subtle mango and peach flavors make up the initial taste. Mild bitter hop flavors and subtle sweet bready malt flavors enter immediately after as initial flavors push on.
FEEL: Somehwere between full-bodied medium-bodied. Moderately carbonated. Goes down somewhat smooth. Finishes with a moderate dryness.
NOTE: Maybe I got a dud. Wasn't that great. Definitely had better, but I have also had worse.

Hazy golden orange body. The head looks super sticky and I just love the webs of lacing it spins down the glass.

Holy hell this beer can be smelled from a foot away. Orange and grapefruit, pine, and sticky icky. It has a sweet tropical fruit balance to the resinous pine.

Oranges and pine, oranges and pine. Very nice play between the two. It has a bready malt balance before breaking into a long and bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is creamy then sticky. It's very soft going down and costs the tongue with sticky residue.

Man, I really dig this IPA and hope to have it again. This beer has its shit together.

11-14-2014 - Tried this on draft for the first time in a long time and it was the best IPA I've ever had. Very unique compared to what I am used to in a CIPA. Bursting with flavors of melons, tropical fruit, and citrus. Subdued bitterness compared to the bottle form. So smooth and drinkable. Wish I could've taken the keg...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A - A murky golden orange color without a lot of bubbles, but a beautiful two finger foamy white head. Definitely unfiltered. This one leaves a lacing like no other beer I've seen.

S - Strong notes of citrus hops dominate this one, very fruity with a faint faint touch of pine. A sweet maltiness is also apparent.

T - Wow, this tastes like grapefruit, only 20 times better. Fruity, citrusy, sweet, and slightly bitter. The sweet malts come through on the back end of this one. Not much alcohol apparent. A finely balanced beer and one of the most delicious I've tasted.

M - It feels a little more carbonated than I suspected, but as smooth as I've ever tasted. Goes down easy and not as big as some IPAs. This is very nice.

D - I feel sorry for the IPA lovers that haven't had a chance to try this one. This is a beer you can ride on all night and never get tired of it. An easy drink and extremely refreshing at that.

Presentation: 12oz. bottle into a nonic.

A- Amber / orange and slightly hazy. 2+ fingers of frothy light-tan head, which fades gradually to a nice cap. Excellent retention and lacing. Borderline 5.

S- Nice grapefruit/citrus/pineapple hopiness with a fair malty sweetness to give some balance.

T- Citrusy hop flavors with a moderate grapefruit/orange peel bitterness that lingers a bit without overwhelming. Well balanced with a solid malt backbone.

M- Moderate carbonation, with a medium feel. Very smooth.

D- Very good. An all around winner that is pleasing and easy to drink.

Future outlook: An excellent local offering. I already thought they made an excellent APA, and now I must add the IPA as another winner. Well done...I'll have this again, and be sure to try the rest of their lineup out sooner rather than later.
