This award winning, copper colored pale ale was the first beer we ever brewed and it's still one of our favorites. We carefully blend German and English malts and add generous portions of American hops for a refreshing citrus aroma with a dry finish.

Aggressive pour of this 12 ounce bottle yielded only a 1/4 inch white head atop a copper-amberish liquid. The minimal head fell almost immediately and left no lace and nary a bubble on the surface.
There is not much in the aroma. There is a slight hint of citrus hop, as well as some biscuity malt. That's it.
The taste belies the nose. This beer has a good bit of flavor. Citrus hops, of the grapefruit variety show through. Bitterness is at the expected level for an APA, but higher than expected given the nose.
The body is light and the carbonation is lively.
It's pretty drinkable for what it is. I had several at the Columbus airport while waiting for my flight.
Thanks For Readings

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 9/1/2016. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey/caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate pale malt/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey/caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon/orange peel, pine, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate pale malt/fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors lingering after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, fairly creamy/grainy, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is an excellent pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate pale malt/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. Very vibrant and pretty juicy on hop/yeast flavors; with a solid malt backbone that never feels too sweet. A very enjoyable offering.

Clear, light copper hued body; thick, sticky, sculpted white head. Fruity, citrus aroma; berries. Mild fruit and light cereal grain flavor; balanced bitterness. Crisp, dry feel with a juicy quality lingering in the background.
A very fine, flavorful pale ale delivering balance and complexity in an easy drinking package.

This is a totally competent pale ale from start to finish. Reviewing from the newer packaging - squatter bottles, which is preferable to the standard height.
It opens deep yellow with nice head and lasting fizz and lacing. The aroma is sharply hoppy and obviously American and huge.
The taste is slightly dry but still full bodied with malt tastes coming through nicely. Perfectly appropriate for the APA style. It stays with you and refreshes.
Columbus has proven to be quite competent on their brews. I visited their pub last year and it was a wreck (I still had a good time, though). They need to fix that, but they make great brews, even the more ordinary ones, like this.
