Pours an effervescent amber with a thumb of cream colored head. Pretty good head retention & lacing

S: Piney with a little grapefruit

T: Follows the nose, breadyness as well, plus a little dryness. Dryness with grapefruit, a little orange as well. Finishes orangey, bready & a little dry with grapefruit

MF: Medium body, firm carbonation, good balance

Nice DIPA, wish I had found this fresher

This is a great beer. Similar to thier standard IPA, but more hoppy and much stronger. Can only have a couple and you must go down in abv. Color is deeper yellow. Smell is very skunky. Flavor is fantastic. 12oz bottle Columbus, oh. 16oz draft at Pastimes Pub New Albany Oh.

Thanks to WesMantooth for this one, from a ninja box during NBS BIF #007. 12oz bottle poured into 10oz fluted tulip. Poured a beautiful, clean, clear, bright golden color with about 1/2 inch of white head that had good retention and light-medium lace.

A big, bold blast of classic hops burst out of the bottle right at the crack of the cap. Lots of grapefruit and other citrus, with very light grain.

Very similar on the tongue; just a well done version of the classic American ImpIPA.

The body was medium, and had a nicely dry finish.

Drinkability was great, thankfully Mr. Mantooth sent a couple bottles along. Overall, a very nice example of the style. This beer meets it's reputation. A must-try if you see it.

Pours a slightly foggy yellow with a finger and a half of white head. Head retention is fair with a few strands of lacing left behind. Aroma is delicate notes of orange, lemon zest, and papaya with slightly more dense notes of biscuit, pale, and bread malts. Flavor profile is lemon zest, papaya, orange, and mango. Biscuit, and pale malts hide behind, but provide a consistent base. Mouth feel is medium in terms of thickness, with a grainy, semi-harsh carbonation feel. Overall, a great DIPA. Lovely hop qualities that are far from overpowering. It's a well balanced beer with great flavor.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 12oz bottle.

Now that is some tremendously understated label artwork there. I was both excited to try it (hype! I've heard so much on NBS!), and underwhelmed by the appearance so not super inclined to get in to it. It had to be done! Rather than share this one (as I've done with several IPAs I've recently received) I elected to drink this one alone... and I do not regret that decision (sorry/not sorry, share buddies).

As much as Bodhi flies under the radar, I think I appreciate it that much more. As unassuming as it is, it hits on all cylinders: it's a nice light, transparent gold amber in color - and that clarity seems to translate well to the taste. It's very nice, light, and clean, but boasts a deep, rich, more syrupy mouth feel than I might have expected. I can't tell what style this tends towards. West coast? But it's not really all that bitter. Definitely more malty than east coast though.

Regardless, it's damn fine. Recommended.

Pours a clear golden orange, vigourous pour yielded a big rocky head. Didn't stick around too long but left lots of soapy lacing.
Smells of citrus, tropical fruits, and a bit of dankness.
Taste follows, getting some pineapple up front followed with grapefruit and orange zest. A bit of oily resinous pine on the finish. Malt backbone is present but not overbearing.
Clean, crisp drinking beer.
Overall this one lives up to the hype, would be in my fridge often if distro was local.

12oz Stubby

Big ol' thanks to Corey for the surprise box of beer. Thanks, dude! Bodhi is a shimmering golden beacon of light. It's polished and bright with near perfect clarity. The foam is slightly tarnished white and extra creamy. A finger of foam forms in no time and although it falls it leaves behind a chunky ring and clingy lace plastered to the glass.

The nose on this beer is vivid. It's tropical but not in the sweet, fruit salad kind of way. It brings forth lush pineapple and underripe mango that i always liken to having a little spiciness. There's a tight green herbal backing that really makes this beer stand out. It's a superbly clean and crisp hop profile. All that over the top of softly sweet cookie dough maltiness. Mouthwatering.

The flavor keeps stride with the nose. It's tropical upfront with the pineapple and spicy mango. It quickly slips toward that vivid green herbalness in the middle with a touch of forest floor dank. The tropicals make a comeback on the swallow. It's fruity yet spicy, they play well together. The malt base adds just enough sweetness to keep the hops from running wild and it again comes in the form of cookie dough. Very nice.

Again, the mouthfeel is spot on. The body is moderate in weight with a lively effervescence that makes it slightly prickly and quick moving. A good, solid, respectable bitterness runs from the tip of the tongue to the back of the throat. It dries up quickly, which helps that bitterness grow. This stuff is immensely drinkable.

Bodhi is a gem. It's bright with clean lines. It flows nicely and is tight all around. It's to the point and I like that. This is my style of IPA. Thanks again, Corey!

Beautiful light golden pour. Great to see a non hazy IPA with such clarity. Aromas faded quickly, but the flavor is the main attraction here. Big hop presence and citrus notes. I bought a four pack of this during my travels in Ohio, and I wish I had bought a case.
