Classic golden hue, lively carbonation, head is a little washy & thin. Aroma is all earthy hops - hop pellets, hop cone, musty hop dust - without any other notes to add depth or shading. Taste is starts out with more of that musty chalk, the use of the hops is fairly astringent & dry, grassy / herbal, bitter rind flavors (grapefruit, melon). Pretty one-note, and disappointing given its reputation.

Thanks to nollie77 for this extra, knocking a long-time beer off my wants list. That’s old school trading there. 12 oz. bottle all to myself.

The pour looks IPA light, sunshine yellow. Smells like citrus & oranges & rock sugar.

Bodhi - I seek to understand the true nature of this beer (sans all the unnecessary suffering). This is a thick IIPA enough residual sugar to make me twitch. Even more. Rock sugar, raw sugar, pour some sugar on me (which might be the worst song ever conceived), before I get to something that might resemble an IPA. When the hops finally show, they’re dank, resinous, herbal, with mild bitterness & full o’ scallions. Don’t kiss a girl after imbibing this and/or brushing your teeth. One of these is plenty.

WFT? Columbus IPA is wonderful & I’ve been looking forward to this one, but I feel like I just listened to the fourth Eve 6 album. Mediocre & a big letdown from expectations.

L: Gold color appearance was nice
S: Smelled strong floral/herbal notes behind the citrus ones
T: Didn't seem right to me. Was expecting big citrus flavors like grapefruit but got nothing but orange with dank floral tasts behind
F: nothing to complain too much about here but wasn't a standout by any means
O: Will probably give this beer another shot someday if I find myself at a bar in Columbus with few other decent craft options but certainly will not bother with it otherwise.

Poured from bottle to snifter. Pours light golden color with a white head. Floral smell with fruity/ citrus notes. Crisp feel with tastes of citrus, hops, mildly sweet and bitter. Very potent taste, one is plenty. Overall an OK ipa, nothing special

Thanks to rudzud

Light fizzy head, slight hazy golden straw color.

Nose pine sap little tropical dank resin, oniony, mild citrus juice, grassy earthy, fruity, little malt.

Taste brings big sweet candy cracker dough, candy syrup, hint of booze, big spicy earthy hop, grassy, pine sap, little oniony again, resin, mild tropical citrus fruit but not much, little minty on the background, bit herbal, big bitterness, herbal bitter spicy chewy hop extract thing finish.

Mouth is med to heavier bod, decent carb, bit syrupy, little booze warmth.

Overall not very good, poor choice of hops, and poor execution.
