12oz bottle poured into a tulip

A- pours a clear golden color with a one-finger creamy white head that retains long after the pour, leaving some nice lacing behind

S- plenty of tropical and citrus hop aromas up front; mango, pineapple, orange peel & grapefruit. Hints of garlic & grass, just a bit of sweet malt and alcohol on the back end

T- plenty of tropical hop notes up front; mango, guava, pineapple, orange zest & grapefruit. Mid-palate brings quite a bit of malty sweetness that continues into the finish, with more tropical hop notes and some booze on the linger

M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a viscous mouthfeel that turns into a creamy finish

O- nice tropical hop notes throughout and the abv is hidden well. As with most of these "triple" IPA's, it gets a bit malty and sweet, which is it's only downfall

Chill haze orange with a fluffy, dense off-white head comprised of miniature, uniform bubbles.

When ultra fresh, I got a shit ton of cantaloupe and pumpkin guts--fresh, uncooked--sort of like a harvest IPA with wet hops. Otherwise, a cornucopia of fruit blasts your face at first sniff, including pineapple, mango, and peach. A slight dankness is present, but it's not as powerful as Bodhi in that regard. A slight touch of pine and bread comes in, with a random whiff of cheese drizzled broccoli, affirming that old school hops haven't been left out.

Taste is full on tangerine and triple sec, with a dash of piney bitterness. Again, though, when I had this ultra fresh, I got a lot of cantaloupe and pumpkin guts--it's not a turnoff and was actually quite refreshing.

Feel is really fluffy, very much like a nitro porter, but with an ashy dry finish.

Pours a hazy light golden color. Aroma is big cities and pine with a hint of malty sweetness. Flavor is great. Citrus and tropical fruit with a clean balanced finish that has a touch of sweetness and a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Has a great feel and overall this is absolutely delicious.

Description: Pale gold color, slightly hazy with a white head. This a has big aroma full of grass, earthy, citrus, pine and resin. The taste profile is similarly complex with bitterness, fruit and a hoppy finish. This is very nicely balanced between sweet and bitter. For a 10% ABV beer, the alcohol is well hidden in the taste although you can certainly feel it. Feel is very smooth with low carbonation, making for an easy drinking beer.

Suggested food pairing: Grilled sea bass

If you like this beer then you should also try: Bodhi (Is that too obvious?)

Overall: 4.25 (This beer is good and I would likely drink it again) Although the name invokes images of a shady dude hanging out in a van near the middle school soccer fields, Creeper is a complex, highly drinkable DIPA. The obvious and easy comparison is to Bodhi, which I think is a bit better. Creeper seemed a little less hop forward on the finish and had a lingering, sweeter aftertaste while Bodhi was a little cleaner; it'd be nice to try them both side to side. Overall though, a great beer that you should seek out. CBC seems a bit more reserved and low-key than some of the other craft brewers in town, and in a good way. Instead of gimmickery, they just turn out top notch beers.
