Columbus Brewing Company

We had a party here a week ago. The location is a little dicey - a stink, presumably from the river, permeated the air outside but did not follow us in.

The porch in front was reserved (at significant expense). It was not ready when it was supposed to be and they had difficulty getting one of the heaters to work, leaving the room pretty chilly all evening. There was no audio from the TV in the room and it was not easy to see the game.

Wait and bar service were very good. The quality of the food and drink served was all first rate. Beer was served slightly too cold - surprising for a brew pub.

There were only two taps of CBC brews CPA and SFW (Safe for Work, a 4.5% dry Belgian Pale, I believe). The guest tap selection was fair. Overall, pretty disappointing, but I had to drive anyway, so I did not partake much (an assorted flight and one each of the CBC's on tap). I would have had a Bodhi if they had it. When the night descended into shots I just watched like a good DD.

I think they need to build a new pub. CPA and Bodhi need a better home.

 

 

24 beers on tap, across all styles, and a veritable heap load of “To Go” options in cans, crowlers, and growlers. The staff was outstanding. And the food is terrific.

If I lived in Columbus, I’d put a tent in the parking lot.

This place is great! Plenty of space plenty of variety. All of your favorite Columbus Brewing offerings are on tap plus a buttload of other one-offs and rotation beers. Columbus Brewing has a great reputation for award winning beers. The servers are friendly, helpful and courteous. I will definitely be back even if it is a 3 hr drive. Great brewery, GREAT tasting room!

 

GPS let us down, but we finally made it. Very industrial building. Lots of beers on tap. Flights are reasonably priced with great pours. Staff was helpful and pleasant

What I had: CBC IPA and Bodhi Double IPA on tap, white wine for the lady.
What I liked: Lively atmosphere, diverse crowd, patio was better than we expected, speedy and competent service, growlers to go, outstanding house beers.
What I disliked: Small draught list with no guest taps from what I could tell, a bit pricey compared to other places, strange hours for a taproom as it closes at 11-12ish even on the weekend.
Would I go back? Most likely.

Unusual layout. Very modern. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was very well prepared and tasty, with edgy interpretations of old standards. The beer was fabulous, as I had expected, but not much from Columbus itself (and of course the treasured Bodhi was off). Plenty of parking makes this pub easy to visit again and I certainly shall.

 

 

 

 

Visited 7/06/15. Not at all crowded on the evening visited. Pleasant ambience, no loud music. A couple of different flights on the menu. I opted for the "Hop Heads" selection, which included Columbus' IPA and Pale Ale and Brew Kettle's White Rajah. Wait staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Will visit again the next time I'm in town.

 

 

 

One of the best breweries in Ohio. There beers are always good, and they have a great selection. Its located in a warehouse district looking area, and they have their own parking lot. The food is always good, and I believe they do source some local foods.
This place can get packed so check it out earlier in the evening, or try making a reservation. I highly recommend!

 

Sat at the bar for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Place was busy but not packed.
A - Clean bright but not necessarily beer centric - 3.75
Q - Correct and clean glasses, maybe served a bit cold, but that is easily dealt with - 4
Ser - Very good - 4
Sel - Good selection of CBC but not just those beers, also Jackie O's, Seventh Son, Hoof Hearted were also on tap when I was there plus an fine selection of bottles from across the country - 4
Food - Has the American pie pizza it was great - 4.25
