Got one of these while up in Maine recently. Saw it reviewed in BA magazine. Thought I'd give it a try. Not surprisingly, lots of carbonation and a thick head when poured into my pint glass. I was surprised, however, to see that it was pretty hazy and had yeast/floaties. Unfiltered? Get a whiff of lemon. Tastes of lemon but also a bit peppery with a small amount of that bready/cracker taste. Pretty refreshing, but nothing earth-shattering. I've had more enjoyable pilsners recently from other American breweries. This one was good, not great.

Light gold color. Looks like a summer pilsner.
Unremarkable smell, but not unpleasant.
Very enjoyable taste. Light, smooth, balanced, but not a hint of watery.
Pleasant feel but not a standout.
Overall a very nice drinkable summer beer. I'll be buying more.

Review from BeerAdvocate magazine issue #112 (MAY 2016)

Crisp, Clean, Herbal, Dry
Out of the southern coast of Maine comes this amazing, well put together German-style Pilsener that easily rivals its European counterparts. With a near-perfect appearance, Pepperell is making me salivate for the first sip. The Noble style hops in the nose keep me coming back, beers like this turn me into a beer sniffer. Clean, but its ample hop bitterness and herbal flavor stay on the palate far into the finish. Dry and drinkable and thirst quenching. Remarkable. [Jason]
