Style: Russian Imperial Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 12.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
The aptly named Mountain is a Russian Imperial Stout. Dark and forboding, notes of burnt caramel, oak, charcoal, and cream, mingle well with a deep, intense maltiness. A huge stout, yet it remains balanced and one sip begs another chance to explore the complexities.

Black in body with khaki head that fades. Aroma of milk chocolate cream, light coffee, earth, hazelnut, cinnamon. Tastes of milk chocolate, cinnamon, coffee, some dirt. Heavy bodied with medium carbonation.

Pours a nice dark black. Little bit of lacing. Taste is complex and has a smoothness that is VERY nice. A little aftertaste I can't identify but not close to a deal breaker. Friend recommended and he's still a friend after drinking this very very nice RIS.

This beer was a black color. There was a small tan head with a smattering of lace.
Nice roasted malt aroma, charred wood, and whiskey.
Taste of whiskey, strong coffee, and a little chocolate.
Not as heavy as I expected. Definitely boozy.
A perfect beer for a cold winter day.
