Notes:
Double IPA with Lime Zest
A collaboration with Barreled Souls [Saco, ME]. Brewed with 200 limes for zesty aromas of margaritas and key lime pie with lingering soft, hop flavors of vanilla ice cream + Riesling.

Had on tap at the brewery.
Pours a light golden color. The lime comes through strongly in both the aroma and taste. Much thinner malt than expected for a double, probably two row with nothing else to back it up. No burn in the end (which is good with me). Kind of disappointed with this one as a DIPA and I don't feel like the lime adds anything special for my tastes, however I understand others mileage may vary with others.

Pours a clear straw color with a nice white head. Smell is lime zest, citrus, pine, and bready malts. The lime is present in the flavor and provides a nice tartness. Citrus, pine, and resinous hops also are in the flavor, along with some light caramel and bread notes. Feel is decently full. Overall, nice DIPA from two excellent breweries. The lime zest makes this pretty unique from most other DIPAs around.

Growler was poured into a nonic glass.
Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a copper color with great clarity and vision of tiny bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Definitely picking up that lime zestiness followed by grassy and citrus hhops with caramel, bready, and pale maltsin the rear.
Taste: Lime zest cuts out a lot of flavors, tones them down, and makes this DIPA quite refreshing and tasty. Balanced and no sense of alcohol given the 8% ABV.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, crisp, refreshing, light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, a little chewy, light bitterness.
Overall: Hope this sticks around for a while. Enjoyed mugs at the brewery and now a growler. I can't believe this is 8%. Crazy deliciousness.
