This + the clam roll at Little Neck in Gowanus is the shit. If you're not drinking this with some fried clams then I don't know what to tell you.

The beer offers wonderful honey flavors up front, a touch of sweetness from the milk sugar, with a medium minus bready malt. The beer is light, but still quite flavorful with the sweetness and flavor of honey up front.

Pours a slightly cloudy deep amber with a one inch white head that was well retained and left little lacing. Smells of sweet malts, honey and floral notes. Strong honey flavor, some lactose sweetness (not overly sweet at all), breast malts and a hint of hops. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated, slightly chewy mouth feel.

When I first saw this beer and thought of it's Biblical nomenclature and allusion, and figured "Hey, maybe this *is* paradise". It wasn't, but it was enough to put a smile on my face as it was sweet, lush, and floral at the same time, while having enough cream in it to reel me in. This was complex and yes, I had it later than I should have but it turned out to be my own shangri-la and at the end of the day, what else could an imbiber truly ask for?

Nice pour to this as the beer was an amber gold with a subtly radiant luminosity that most malted barely beverages could only aspire to. Plenty of bready, bubbly head topped this off though it settled quickly and left behind little in the way of bubbles on the liquid. A light amount of soapy lacing remained on my Teku glass, which wasn't surprising given how long I let this sit for before I got around to it. Apricot, white grape. honeysuckle, and orange marmalade on the nose with plenty of fruity, floral, and sweet notes in the taste. Surprisingly, there was a heavy nature and mouthfeel to this beer as it nearly felt like honey more than anything else. No sign of the vanilla mentioned on the can though the malt was reminiscent of the biscuit that was listed on there; though it was drowned out by the spring-like nature of the taste...

Amazingly, this was moderate enough to be considered as a session beer. The sweetness of the milk sugar was enough to complement the honey and orange marmalade and even had me looking up what chamomile was. It's an old saying that still waters run deep and indeed, this was certainly calm enough to qualify for that. One of these was enough but in the end, it was more of a novelty than anything else. Drink this to see what Greenpoint is capable of, and dream about what could be if everything aligned properly...
