This New England style double IPA has the highest ABV of any IPA we brew. Double-dry hopped with irresponsible amounts of Galaxy and Calypso hops, we achieve a big fruity aroma with lots of peach, citrus and passionfruit.
Fun Fact: This is considered the “citrusy” double in our portfolio. The name was born when Pete & Erol tried to explain ‘hop utilization’ (how well hops impart their taste and aroma into beer) and got tongue-tied calling it Hopulization.

16oz can. Dated 06/28/21, just over two months old. Bought it at Pint Defiance two days ago.

Pours a moderately hazy orangey-amber color with a medium sized head that settles into a fairly tame layer. Smell is tropical fruit, very ripe.

Taste is quite nice -- boozy, strong tropical fruit notes and a solid resinous bitter backbone.

Mouthfeel is actually pretty light and dry, especially considering the strength. Overall, this is a very nice IPA.

Nice, dense half finger head. The liquid is cloudy, darker gold. Nearly blanketing lace from the remaining thin layer of bubbles.

The smell leans to the malt with some lightly toasted notes. There's a light malt sweetness as if the beer wasn't completely fermented. The hop smells like a spice.

The initial taste is malty sweet, more so than the smell suggests. The hop is more pronounced but not terribly bitter -- just a stronger spice. High carbonation but the body is up to this level in terms of richness -- well balanced mouthfeel. The finish is pleasantly balanced while the aftertaste lingers to the remaining bitterness.

More sticky than I expected it to be and on top of that it was sort of acidic. That said, it still tasted like it had a lower ABV than it actually did, so it really did well there. Overall, this was solid, very good even, but not something I would really go out of my way to get.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a conical pint glass; canned 04/06/18.
A: Pours a hazy golden to amber color with robust head formation with a greater than one inch head, excellent retention, and rings of foamy lacing.
S: Aromas of lemon, apricot, pine, and honeysuckle. Spicy and peppery.
T: Flavors of lemon, caramel, resin, and pine with subtle, not overwhelming cumin and peppery bitterness.
M: Medium bodied and excellent carbonation.
O: A delicious and spicy DIPA. Drinkable and enjoyable.

Pint can poured into a fat Duvel glass. Canned on 4/4/18 " Robert Doubly Jr. Ironman" opened on 4/18/18. 8.9 % abv. 60 ibu

O.k New Hampsha, it's time to get in the game...the New England hazy, juicy ipa game ! Hazzy and opaque gold and amber coloration with white highlights. The foamy head is high, clumpy, rocky, sticky lacing as it recedes with bunches of creamy white left over floating around.

The aroma actually reminds me of some old school, west coast ipa's with a roastie, toastie, caramel like malty thing, bunches of herbs and spices, wet earthy and dry grass hoppy tones. Sour, herbaceous, wet golden wheat pops right out. Peppery slight citrus baser fruitiness is in there, but well hidden. Not your typicallly juicy, citrus fruit hop bomb aroms, that's for sure.

The mouthfeel and texture is on the full and heavy side of the douple NE ipa stylings. Dense but light malty effect liquid, crisp, full, smooth, long and lush. A silky, complex mouthfeel that has a big dry-earthy bite. Crisp, then full and thick, finishing very dry and earthy bitter.

A heady mix of peppery herbs and spices, earthy tones that hit your palate hard...and very dry! The hops feel thick, dry, seriously earth y, bitter edges with citrus, orange peel, and black pepper all over it. Tangy fruits, citrus based tang, no real sweetness or juicy effects last. It's Layed on thick with dry, bitter hops, all earth, no sweet. Malt is bright and crisp, with notes of dry golden wheat and light blonde ale style complexity.

The herbaceous, earthy, bitter and dry overall hoppy effect is really much more old school Dipa style, no real New England style adpects to be had except for the appearance. The malt ventures far away from light, highlighting some dense, toasty flavor's that enhance the bitter edged, earthy hop tones. Heavy stuff, man.

This is easily one of the most "bad-ass" ipa's NH has to offer.

Poured into a tulip glass. The beer displaced a lovely lemon color with lacing. The smell was citrus and a little piney scents. Taste is a bit dry, with an explosion of orange and grapefruit. The flavor lingers and is medium bodied.
Overall, an extremely nice tasting.
