Style: New England IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This juicy IPA has a hazy appearance with a light, malty backbone. English ale yeast imparts notes of peach, pear and pineapple, that are rounded out with a variety of American aroma hops. Hints of citrus and pine create a well-balanced, hop forward and slightly sweet IPA.

Can at Stephanie's on Newbury, Boston, MA

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high white head that left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass and a short head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of fruits are present in the nose—pears stand out in particular—along with hints of pineapple.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of flavors of pears. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and very juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is a very good example of the style as it is very juicy and fruity.

The beer is a golden haze in the glass (poured from a pint can); medium head; the citrus flavor comes out after a few sips, but then is unmistakable. Smooth, strong beer.

Had a four pack of this absolutely wonderful New England styled IPA. Three were consumed within 2 weeks of purchasing date, the last one was consumed this past Sunday, May 20th, 2018.
Two cans were poured into bechers, two were poured into tulips. No known differences between the glasses.
Here's my observations:
Appearance - all four times: thick hazy/cloudy opaque orange sand color with an appropriate finger's worth of white foamy head. Lace mildly dissipated all four times. Nice looking webbing ran here and there.
Aroma - succulent tropical fruit rolling into a sweet danky onion with some earthiness punching some clean grassy hop effects.
Flavor - sweet tropical fruits trolling the dankiness of the onion, lets in some earthiness again but it's nice and clean with a lil' bit of a zesty grab and the grassy effects punching the aftertaste just as I had hoped it would
Mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it due to the punch lil' bit of onion snapping at a gritty little bit of that zest
overall it's everything one would want with a New England styled IPA. And this is brewed to the East of me!?!?!? If Stoneface distro-ed to Vermont, I can see some Vermont brewers getting flustered. This stuff is damn legit!

L: Pale yellow/orange. Hazy, great head retention
S: Lots of tropical fruits, sweet, papaya pineapple, guava, candied citrus
T: Fruits are strong. Malts come through clean and dry, cracker. Finishes smooth and clean, little bitterness that is present but very soft.
F: Very smooth, a bit heavy but drinkable. Carbonation is medium high but not spritey.
O: Highly enjoyable NEIPA style beer.

Served in a glass at the Stoneface Brewing Company in Newington, New Hampshire.
A: Pours an opaque, golden orange very much like pulpless orange juice with strong retention of the white head and exquisite rings of lacing all the way down the glass.
S: Strong peach and lemon citrus aromas.
T: Aromas of peach and nectarine with mango and navel orange notes. Very low bitterness, just enough to afford a clean finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Creamy, yet very refreshing.
O: Really a top notch IPA. Light and not terribly bitter like an EC or even English IPA, but creamy like a contemporary NE. Yum.

Pours nicely out of can into Pilsner glass. Hazy yellow with thick white foam head. Very nice lacing and good aroma. I was expecting much more IPA flavor considering the exceptional ratings it got. This is not in same class a Larson’s Sip of Sunshine. It was good but not an exceptional New England style IPA. Not worth the $4 that I paid for one pint can.

Citrusy IPA, not too boozy. A solid easy drinking beer!
