On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a nice moderately hazy orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like melon, dank pine, grapefruit, pineapple slight berry, and grassiness.

This is really cool IPA. The bitternes is nice, herbal, peppery, and piney, with a unique fruit flavor up front, pineapple, berry, melon, grapefruit, with not much in the way of malt character. It's very juicy, but not in the pure juice sort of way. The bitterness keeps everything in check.

This is light bodied, very crisp, with a good level of carbonation.

I've been geekin' hard on Gun Hill lately- they make some great beers.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a ruddy almost golden color with a film of a little white head that fell off immediately. Slightly speckled sliding lace. The aroma blends sweet danky onion to crisp sweet peach. Slight grassy sweetness. And then a touch of lemon rind opens it up a bit more. Light pine. The flavor starts danky sweet through the onion and then ends up blending some peach and lemon as it continues to warm. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable to sipping quality about it. Good carbonation. Gets a little bit syrupy in the feel as it warms. Still, a lingering somewhat sharp bitterness seems to coincide with the syrupy feel. Overall, well, good aroma and flavor, but the feel, just seems a bit different for a DIPA, maybe again, not sure.

Medium-gold color with a light haze, i.e., not New England-style hazing; finger or two of bubbly head slimmed to a film cap that lasted all the way down, trailing short lace arms behind. Aromas decidedly pine-like and resinous, with citrus underpinnings... Flavors was appropriately forest pine-forward, little bit of chew, nice sticky resin sweetness, mellow citrus pith and peel rounding things off with a lemony quality... Feel with smooth and medium-weight, nicely bittered - not a bitter hop bomb, but had a bitter, dank, shellacky kind of way with the palate... I really dug it... No canning date; features Chinook, Simcoe, Denali, and Equinox hops.

This is a really damn good IPA. It came as a recommendation from my bottle shop and I'm glad I picked it up. Piney and sharp up front with a subtle booziness. Grainy and bitter and coats the mouth with a resinous oil. Could rival others

Consumed from a can.

L: A turbid amber color with no head at all , almost like cider.

S: Assertive dank hop aroma.

T: Bold and complex hop flavor that matches the nose, with a nice level of malt body and sweetness to compliment and balance the beer.

F: Nothing particularly notable in the feel. Appropriate carbonation.

Overall: Excellent DIPA

This beer pours a hazy golden orange color with a 1/2 finger bright white head that dissipates almost immediately and leaves very sparse spotted lacing in it's wake.

Smell is very nice, but not overpowering. Pineapple, tangerine, pine, dank earthiness and grapefruit are all apparent.

Taste is the same, but slightly muddled. There is no "starts off fruity, finishes piney and bitter" or anything of that nature. It is just all of the flavors all at once, and it seems sort of discombobulated.

Feel is too light for a DIPA. It is soft and juicy, which is nice, but I wish the finish was more resinous.

Overall a decent beer. This is my 2nd Gun Hill brew and it is nowhere near as good as the first (I believe the name was Roll Call). Certainly not giving up on these guys, but if your price point is in the same realm as Grimm/Singlecut, then they should really do better.
