This is technically a Grisette not a Saison but there is no grissette listed in the current styles. From what I've read, they're a low abv, hoppier take on a saison usually made with malted instead of unmalted wheat. Noble hops are used in generous amounts. In any case those is great beer.

Big head on top of a pale golden liquid. Nice retention and lots of lacing. Slightly cloudy and active carbonation.

Nose has lots of pilsner malt sweetness and just a bit wheat twang. Spicy hop notes, I'm thinking Saaz, as well as more floral Goldings. Light lemon, grass and hay. Some pears, a bit of honey. Mild peppery bite. While the yeast is Definitly Belgian, there's little to no funk.

Taste is flowing from the nose. Honeyed malt front with a bit of pear nectar. Some toasted dinner rolls. Nice hop blend follows. Spicy and lightly oily in a way that deposits a grapefruit coating on my tongue. Some lemon, and a touch of grass and hay. Finish is clean and very dry with a mouth watering hop oil bitterness that lingers lightly.

Feel is refreshing and quenching with an active but soft, creamy carbonation. Weight is perfect, with enough body to engage and please your mouth. Supple and delightful as I drink. Super drinkable.

This is a top tier brew. It has me looking into the style. Its hoppiness makes this a great session brew when your tired of UP As. Its flavor makes it your want to just kill at least a couple of pints and I'm sure it's great with barbeque and cheeses. I'll have to get some more to confirm this conjecture! Great job Gun Hill.
