Had been meaning to get to the brewery, but this was my first time. The area is still a bit raw, so if you are planning to go, be mindful. The facility is a repurposed commercial building with a decent amount of room in the front, sporting a solid wood serving area/bar off to the left corner, and a much larger serving area when the back production area is opened. The theme of the products is Colonial America (as I understand it one of their brews, Rise Up Rye, was brewed for the Broadway show, Hamilton), but the brewery itself does not try to hammer this home and the subtlety is appreciated. The quality and selection are both solid and the service friendly. I will be back.

Good place to grab a beer. No food but tables to sit and enjoy the beer. Bar service only and about 12 beers on tap.

My local place so I might be a little biased.
V: Located in an industrial part of the east Bronx, Gun Hill has a surprisingly inviting feel. Locals, med students, cyclists and beer enthusiasts populate the bar. The bar itself is housed in an old garage, it's light on decoration and because it shares a room with the actual brewery you can see most of the fermentation vessels.
Q: The beer is phenomenal
S: Bartenders are all awesome human beings. Often they'll throw you a free empanada or sneak you sips of beers that aren't yet released. Sample pours are generous and the staff is always knowledgeable.
Sl: Probably have about 15 beers on tap at a time.

A haven of Revolutionary Americana in a sea of Modern industrial sprawl.
Sourcing local ingredients and using traditional brewing techniques as defined by the fine patriots who came before, GHB is a nod to a simpler time with earnest values. The facility was impeccably clean and the staff warm and inviting. The owner was on premise and made himself completely available to answer any and all questions. Baseball fans will be pleased to note the formation of the Brewery was established amongst fellow local baseball players. A fact the owner was pleased to mention upon hearing I was returning from a trip to the Cooperstown baseball hall of fame. Which if you yourself are likely to visit, and traveling from Long Island I highly recommend making the stop. I would of course advise that visit to be sooner than later as GHB is the quality of brewery that will be hard for larger companies to resist attempting to buy. I stopped at the Laconia Ave, location but please note they have another location with a full restaurant menu.

Nice place to grab a brew. Simple, industrial styled brewery with consistently outstanding offerings from Gun Hill along with a handful of regional New York brews. Limited food selection. This brewery orders out for empanadas only, but they do allow patrons to order out and revive your food via delivery. Service was good overall, but my rating is likely screwed due to the wedding party that was there disrupting things a little. I had a great time visiting in the afternoon.

Visited on 10/24/25 for BA VoL release. Nice open space, seating at the bar with TVs and bench tables in front. Selection was basic (stout, ipa, wheat beer, pale ale) but excellent. Great service. Recommended.

A cool place to go drink. A tap room in which the brewery is visible. The bartender who served us was super cool and let us taste as much as we wanted . I believe there were six beers on tap, all by gun hill brewery, and they were decent. This brewery is located in a rather un eventful area of the Bronx, but hopefully it will find its niche and hopefully that neighborhood will see some growth in the coming years. A solid local brewery I'm happy to support.

Been here only once and it happened to be for their 1 year anniversary party. Place was rockin, selection was top notch. Void of light is def one of the best stouts you'll ever have. Glad local brewing is back in my hometown!

Gun Hill Brewing Co. provided a solid brewery experience. Flight of 6 for $9 featuring the Gun Hill Gold, Cherry Tree Ale (not on BA), Catskill Hop Harvest (also not on BA), Kraftwerk Ale, IPA and Nelson's Oatmeal Stout. All 6 were between solid and very good. Both the bartender and one of the brewers or owners (not sure) were very nice and cordial. A TV with NFL Red Zone isn't a bad thing either on a Sunday afternoon.
Why not a 5? For one, it's a semi-enclosed bar and the large gate was open. This past Sunday wasn't exactly warm and while it was pleasant when I first arrived, it did get colder. Secondly, as friendly as the bartender was, he didn't have answers to what malts/hops were used in a few of the beers.
Overall, a very solid, young brewery and I'll both drink them on tap when I see them and be back again when the lineup changes.

Small brewery in old warehouse building with short bar to the left of the entry seats about 10. There are a few picnic tables on the floor. Brewhouse is behind bar and to the right in the back. 8 beers on tap, the two I had were solid. Friendly service. Enjoyable visit.
