Arrives in a snifter, this extremely dark brown liquid with a tightly bubbled, medium tan head. Retention is a bit short-lived, dropping to a ring pretty quickly.
Smell is burnt malt up front followed by not much else discernible. Still, good.
Taste is more complex with notes of malt (heavily roasted), a mild sweetness, faint hops.
Body is lighter than I would like, quite light under any inspection. Medium effervescence. Ready to drink. No warming, but at 4%, none expected.
