Pours a dark chocolate black with chocolate red highlights. Thin tan head with foam ring and an interesting starry film.

Smells of milk chocolate malts with a tiny hint of lactose. Some interesting marshmallow sweetness and hints of tobacco and leather.

Tastes of marshmallow sweetness up front with light milk chocolate, a little leathery tobacco and lightly roasted dark malts. Has a slight hoppy character as well.

Medium to light body, a tad thin for as stout but adds to the drinkability.

Overall an approachable stout that will introduce folks to the complex flavors possible in a stout that are not found in a Guinness this side of the pond.

12 oz can

Lifts a ridiculously large head (infected?) That unfortunately stays and stays.

A bit of dark grains in the nose.

Very thin and watery

More then a hint of dark grains, chocolate and bitter dark coffee.

So what we have here is a stout under a huge head that's kinda thin but also pretty flavorful.

Strange is the best I can say...this makes me question the recommendation I received from the beer dude in the new store I visited...he said he really liked this stuff....really....

It is painfully tart and tastes like a tin can has decayed in malts for several years. Metallic, is what I'm saying. Smooth, with a bit of a chocolate cookie taste, and maybe a bit of watermelon, but it's just so drowned out. Heavy and leaves a long finish.

It's basically black with a minimal foamy tan head and a bit of lacing. Has a metallic scent.

Agree with a previous review, the head lifted so much and so fast I wondered if it was infected as well. Thin, dark chocolate, and oddly enough a bit sour. Not a fan at first, I think I mistook the sour flavor for an off sort of metallic taste, but the further into the beer I get.. it's not terrible. Probably wouldn't buy it again though

Smooth and drinkable. Would have enjoyed more if carbed less. From a can.

-the dark growler pour is a bit murky, but the nose is rich with cocoa. The flavor includes chocolate and raisins. There is a bitter note to balance the sweetness. This was enjoyable.

Overall, this is a very decent stout. No strong flavors and a little bit of bite. I would not go out of my way to get it, but I wouldn't mind drinking it if I had to.

Didn't expect much from this one but was definitely pleasantly surprised.looks a bit thin but the smell made up for that, does have a slight dark fruitiness in with the malt and coffee but overall its a solid , if unspectacular, stout.
