Coffee and chocolate into a stout we go. On-tap at the source and served in a 16 ounce shaker despite an alcohol level that hits 8.3%. On to the beer:
Black bodied with a half-inch of head and a few washes of lacing. The aromas of coffee and chocolate have certainly made their impressions, and that's in a generally positive way. It's a strong beer; coffee and chocolate playing Thing 1 and Thing 2 in this big, syrupy stout. Vague roast and a kiss of booze is provided by the base beer. However, the beer itself doesn't rise to the level as other flavored stouts (Rogue Chocolate Stout, for example). It's medium bodied and syrupy. This beer isn't a nightmare at all, but the way the alcohol creeps up, three of these may give you nightmares.

Dark, sweet, chocolaty, but lacking just a bit on the roasty side. Overall, a good stout. Cheers!

12 ounce can poured into a tulip
A: Pours black with a mocha colored head, good amount of lacing, no carbonation, looked a little under carbonated on the pour, no light coming through, some head retention, looks pretty solid.
A: Coffee, dark chocolate, dark roasted fresh ground coffee, has a lot of roasty characteristics coming through, not on the sweet side of aroma, smells promising.
T: Nose is a lot better than the taste, lacks a big punch of coffee and chocolate, it's there, but it's much mellower than the nose. Get a hit of coffee, touch of chocolate, moderate amount of bitterness in the middle, finish is of coffee and dry.
M: Really lacks some carbonation, besides that it's creamy and smooth, it seems like it has some lactose in it.
O: The aroma was very promising however the taste was a bit disappointing. I don't know where all the coffee and chocolate in the aroma went on the taste, it's there but not as present as it is in the aroma. The beer also lacks some carbonation to balance it out.

A: Moderate coffee aroma, followed by some chocolate and roastiness.
A: Black, quite opaque, with a big frothy off-white head with excellent retention.
T: Moderate coffee, chocolatey flavor with mild amount of bitterness on the finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The beer does exhibit a little booziness. The nitro gives the beer a very smooth, almost slick mouthfeel.
O: Pretty solid; the appearance of this beer (when poured correctly) is excellent. The aroma was not quite as prominent as the appearance suggests and the flavor was solid, but would be tastier if less restrained.

nice, creamy head on top, but a little thin on the tongue. has the chocolate and coffee flavors, for certain, but expected a little more viscosity. perhaps this thinness lends to the 'amateurish' feel but for the 8.3% this one holds up so well..... beautiful, creamy head though.......!!
