32 oz growlette was poured into a pint glass. First lager off the pilot system.
Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a golden yellow color with great clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass.
Smell: Toasted and biscuity pilsner malts, grassy and herbal hops, and some lager yeast.
Taste: Classic pilsner malt flavor, slight sweetness, grassy, herbal, a little chewy, and lager yeast.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, refreshing, light bodied, crisp, refreshing, slightly bitterness, slight lager yeast aftertaste, and medium carbonation.
Overall: Will have to admit that this first lager from these guys is easy going and great for all occasions. Will look forward to more of this while it lasts.

Pours a clear straw with a white head. Smells of bread and yeast. Taste is the same, with a light hop presence. Carbonation is nice and typical of the style. Overall, a very nice interpretation of a style from a brewery not usually known for lagers.

Pours a crystal clear golden straw color with a decent white head. The head has decent retention and settles into a halo around the top of the beer.
The aroma is doughy and yeasty, with a kiss of grass and hops on the back end.
The flavor is subtle and nuanced, and definitely not what I expected from a brewery that loves to hop the crap out of all their beer. Lots of grain and yeast with some faint notes of lemon and grass. The finish is lightly hopped and extremely dry.
The feel is medium-light bodied with pretty good carbonation. Extremely refreshing with some subtle lingering bitterness.
Overall, a damn good Helles that I honestly had low expectations for. I expected a "Helles IPA" but got a nicely balanced and subtle lager. The hops are absolutely present, but they compliment more than detract. Well done, Foundation.
