This place had grown on me and I feel it's a bit underrated. Love the coziness of it. The times I've been there it hasn't been overcrowded which is worth a whole scale rating alone ... I'm not a fan of cluster F settings and long lines. Love the whole making good beer in the garage type of feel to it. Almost nostalgic to me as it brings back old memories of the days when Hill Farmstead was still small but ready to explode. Loved hanging out in the old small space on a Friday night with a small crowd tasting a Riwaka forward IPA. BTW, where can I find a Riwaka IPA these days? That hop is the Holy Grail for me. Anyhow. props to Four Quarters. Keeping it real!

Small but a cool hang out in a urban area. Good selection.

If you're in the Burlington neighborhood for Foam, make sure you stop by this place. I felt instantly comfortable when I went inside. I was also able to get 2oz pours which I like so I can sample more of their beer. There were about a dozen on-tap and a good selection to take home. They also have a good variety in their beer, not just DIPA's and stouts. Check it out!

Interesting little joint. Arrived on a Friday afternoon at open, folks were warm and inviting. There was music being played using the old school record player. Not too loud, enough to allow people to talk. Tasting bar was nice, the server let us get a couple of small tastes of things before we started doing bigger pours. When it was time to buy beer to go, the service was great and the prices were reasonable. They had about 8 of their beers available in cans, and some others for growlers. All in all a really nice experience.

Stopped in to say hi and was amazed by their beers, Justin was serving and was quite easy to deal with. I had 3 beers - Herbie, Gerard and the Barrel aged Morning Star (which was my favorite of the 3), I'm not one to drink BA stouts this time of year, but that beer was totally legit. It looked like the place used to be a garage as there was a garage door at the front o the building and then there were a ton of all sorts of equipment laying around in that area - it didn't bother me, just told me that Brian the head brewer keeps extra equipment on stand by, I get that (always gotta be prepared). Nice looking picnic tables were outside. Also, noticed that there were some barrels off to the right that looked like he was aging some beers - pretty cool to me and I can't wait to go back. Too bad they don't have better hours as I would be back more often.

Brian knows his beer and is devoted to his craft. I have a lot of respect for this nano-turned-macro brewery. If you are doing the brewery tour in Burlington -- this is a must visit. Afterwards, I would swing by Mule Bar (who are friends with Brian) and grab a bite to eat.

Four Quarters also has made beers for some of the local watering holes including Waterworks and Mule Bar. It's very community oriented and a great place to have a beer after work.

Cozy atmosphere in their small taproom / brewery, excellent experimental beers in various styles.

Located in an industrial block in Winooski, a very funky suburb of Burlington, Four Quarters is a one room tasting room, cramped and dark, with a small bar and a scattering of chairs. Surrounded by a myriad of hipster paraphernalia - and accompanied by jazz on vinyl records, the patron feels like there are drinking homebrew in a friend's basement. Friendly service and thirsty locals add to the vibe. Very small brewery with unreliable hours and outdated website (check Facebook).

this place is pretty neat, somewhat different than the usual taproom. very small operation in a very small space. they have a cool outside area with a few picnic tables and a small stage, and inside they have a tiny bar with only a few seats and a lot of neat art. just a handful of beers on tap to pick from, i think the small system and the popularity means the beers run out fairly frequently, although the three we had here were all pretty interesting and tasty. they had a fantastic smoked chocolate brown, and also a tomato basil edition of their saison, which i have never seen before in a beer. they were more creative than good though i thought, but perhaps it was just our selection of one offs instead of their staples. the vibe is great in here though, real mellow, cool vinyl spinning, dog friendly, i definitely see the appeal. not much to comment on in terms of service, the dude was busy and hurried, seems stressed, but poured the beers up no problem. overall this is well worth a visit, and a nice edition to the burgeoning vermont brewery scene. i expect big things from these guys in the near future.

Brian, the brewer, is an awesome dude and the mad scientist of craft beers. This dude will try anything and it almost always works! Beers are awesome, and the brewery is a great place to hang out and have a beer, or 3.
