Hazy orange color. Off white head.

It's good, but not NorthEast hops good. Fairly tropical but not super juicy. Some orange and grapefruit. Medium bodied and little bitterness.

Pretty solid.

16oz Can

Big thanks to Mark for passing me a couple of these today! The Juice is Loose is a hazy concoction but not near as ugly as some of the others. It's bright orange and glows when backlit. The foam is perfectly white and microbubbled. It fills the two finger void from body to rim easily and shows impressive staying power. Sticky lacing coats the glass with each drink that will need to be forcibly scraped free.

The nose is a veritable fruit salad. Fistfuls of apricot lead the way. Grapefruit zest with a little parmesan rind. Tropicals buzz the middle, pineapple and peppery mango. The backend brings with it tangerine and a softly herbal kick. There's not much of a malt bill at all but there is a bubblegum sugariness on the periphery. A soft, clean booziness accentuates the peppery (underripe) mango and herbal quality.

Tropical fruit salad hits hard off the bat. Mango is big upfront with some guava and pineapple joining shortly thereafter. The middle, and my favorite aspect, is that bright apricot. Like the nose suggested the finish brings along that herbal quality and underripe mango. Again, there's not much of a malt base. It would be stretching it to say sugar cookie, more of a simple bubblegum sweetness.

I dig the feel of this beer. It's airy and effervescent. The carbonation is dialed in nicely on the higher side of the spectrum. The weight sits around moderate but the bubbles add the froth. It's lively and bright with a nice bitterness that grows to a shade below moderate as you drink. Drinkability is up there pretty high. A pint disappears quickly.

The Juice is Loose is a good beer from Transient. It's bright and tropical with a nice spiciness on the finish. The mouthfeel and drinkability fit the bill. It's a lot easier going down than most 8% beers out there. I'd pick this up in the future. Thanks again, Mark!

L: Hay, apricot, and honey hues with an ample fluffy white head
S: Pineapple, lemon, and mango
T: Tropical fruits - very smooth and enjoyable
F: Soft and creamy
O: After tasting this, I honestly know where all of these good ratings come from. This is something special - it's hard to get better beers around North Carolina. Great tropical flavors and nice mouthfeel.

Crazy juicy beer that reminds me of only the best Trillium brews I've been able to try. At twenty bucks a four pack I can imagine people passing this up, but, as a beer nerd through and through, I assure you that you need to pull the trigger on this if you find it.

Yes, now this is a good ipa ! This is the kind of N.E. style ipa people want. This is not a imitation knock off or a failed attempt at a hazy hoppy brew. This is The Juice is Loose !!!

Pours an opaque hazy juicy orange with a respectable head and decent retention. Appearance is that of o.j. and Hefeweizen. Nice looking brew. I usually don't rate most appearances over 4.0 but because this has a nice frothy head I am obligated to rate it 4.25.
Aromas are inviting along the lines of orange, peach, apricat and marshmallow. Good smelling stuff.

This ipa is the kind where can't just sip and savor. I guess you can try but I found out very quickly that I just wanted gulp this down. I tried to be patient and just enjoy every sip but sure enough I became too hasty with this beer and finished quickly (thank goodness my trading partner hooked me up with a couple). Flavors of juicy orange and peach and just the right amount of bitterness.
I swear I hate it when these N.E. type Ipa's end up being juice bombs that barely resemble an ipa. Juice is Loose accomplishes both. Enough bitterness to be an assertive traditional ipa as well as enough haze and juice to hang with the authentic hazy ipa's in the North East. Throw in a nice creamy and crisp feel and bam ! You have a terrific ipa !

L: Very hazy with sticky lacing and head that hangs around for about 3/4 of the time.
S: Dank weed, tropical fruit with a little sour edge
T: Grapefruit, Orange. Flavors are very intense and tropic forward. Really nice.
F: Very soft and drinkable but still with a little west coast bite.
O: This is not quite an all out NE IPA, but it definitely contains some of those traits. If TH and Trillium had a baby with Stone Enjoy By, it might taste a bit like this awesome beer.

Hazy, juicy, smooth, and balanced. Sweetens as it warms and there's an odd Doritos Cool Ranch note in the aroma, but that makes it more fun with all the mango, passionfruit, and, maybe, anise. Great beer.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy orange. Smells citrusy and tropical. Some doughy sweetness. Tastes of mango, melon, and citrus. Drops off quickly to some doughy malts. Moderate sweetness, amazingly. Pretty dry. Medium heavy. Very good, even if it is a one-note profile.
