Brewed in collaboration with the Beer Cellar.

Released November 2016; drank 1/28/17 @ Yuss Haus Mach II.

Black appearance. Minimal tan head; minimal lace.

Burnt chocolate, raspberry, marshmallow & whiskey heat notes in the nose.

Thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Spoiled cream, burnt caramel & sweet chocolate flavors up front; faint booze heat. Tough to finish, much less enjoy.

A - Pours a midnight black with a thin tan head. Light soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is vanilla, dark chocolate and molasses.

T - The taste is dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, caramel, oak and a nice kick of bourbon.

M - Full body with low carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a dry finish.

O - This is a killer beer. The barrel ramps up the original base beer. Definetly worth seeking out.

The feel on this beer is incredible and, like may good things in life, dwells in wonderful paradox: thin yet full, dark yet bright, bitter yet sweet, rich yet some subtleness. The taste is a wonderful waltz of vanilla and bourbon with malt and chocolate playing the music in the background. Would like a little more complexity, but still a very fine beer

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Had 2/25/17.

Pours an opaque, dark brown, oily and thick looking, with a short but thick, quickly dissipating, foamy head and some spotty, oily lacing. Looks good. Smells of coffee, dark roast malts, chocolate, molasses, vanilla beans, toffee, light bourbon. Smells great. The taste pretty much follows the nose. Roasted malts- not as roasty as the nose, bourbon, coffee, cocoa, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, light oak, some licorice and alcohol. Smooth, a solid, full body, good level of carbonation.

Great coffee aroma and flavor, overall a complex and expressive effort. Barrels are more subtle than expected.

650ml bottle of the 2017 vintage, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark black body, opaque with a one finger white head, good retention and no lacing. Smell is bourbon, hot booze, a bit of toasted malt, milk chocolate, some dark chocolate fudge, fair bit of vanilla. Flavour is a nice vanilla-forward flavour mixed in with boozy bourbon, a bit of oak, backed up by some milk chocolate and fudge, slight earthy finish. It's a bit too boozy which seems to cover up the vanilla, which I was hoping would be as present as in beers like M3 or VR, but nevertheless this is a solid vanilla imperial stout. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly thin, good barrel finish, appropriate carbonation.

Appearance - Served on tap, the beer poured an oily black color with mocha bubbles crowning the glass.

Smell - The nose smelled of booze and honey, not a bad combination.

Taste - Once I got past the well balanced booziness, I detected honey, vanilla, baker’s chocolate, and ginger snaps. The whole profile works so well before fading into a boozy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - There was a stickiness with the viscosity.

Overall - This beer is so well done. Seek it.

This is my all time favorite barrel aged stout I've ever tried. The layers of awesomeness is mind blowing. I have tried many barrel aged stouts in my life and not even a question about which is my favorite. Thank you Chris for making this astonishing creation!!!!
