This beer is interesting... I wish they would have just put Buckley in rum barrels and left it alone. The clove and ginger and other crap for adjuncts was a bit over the top. Just stick to the coffee, maple, vanilla combo!

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Had 11/25/17.

Pours dark, opaque, with a half inch head of darker foam and some oily lacing. Aromas of malt, cloves, ginger, molasses, smoke, cinnamon, cocoa, some vanilla, a little black pepper when warm. The taste is malt, ginger, cinnamon, chocolate, molasses, some vanilla and caramel, lighter cloves, a hint of rum as it warms. Kind of a light sweetness- from the maple? Very smooth, a solid medium to full body, well carbonated.

This was very enjoyable. Most of the add- ins are clear and expressive, although the maple and orange zest are pretty much no- shows. The ginger and cloves are great in this. Well worth a purchase, if it comes around again.

Looks and pours beautifully. Spices galore. Lots of cinnamon and clove up front. Getting the orange zest mid palate. Am I picking up some cardamom? Hint of maple syrup and earthy molasses. Medium bodied. Semi dry finish. Flavor punch up front that mellows out with lingering spices. Bit boozy in a good way. Real good.

A - Pours midnight black with a thin tan head. Light soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is ginger, cinnamon, dark chocolate and rum.

T - The taste is dark chocolate, vanilla, maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, clove and rum.

M - Full bodied with low carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft oily finish.

O - This is a pretty decadent spiced rum barrel aged stout. The ginger and cinnamon are very strong throughout. Nice dessert beer.

Draft pour from the brewery

Awesome brew! Kinda like a Cinnabon rum cake. I'm not the biggest fan of anything with rum, but this is the exception right here. Tame heat. Thick and viscous fudge, cinnamon, and other spices. I liked this better than Kentuckley. I just hope the bottles taste as good as the straight draft.

Had on tap at The Beer Temple. The vanilla presence was supplanted by maple. But, this beer is not about flavors. It's the alcohol. Reduce it. I say.
