Great selection. Friendly, welcoming vibe. Dog friendly (no food served so dogs roam bar freely). Long bar, lots of high top tables, and also couches for chilling. Lots of beer/styles to choose from, including local beers on tap. Something for everyone here. Located in a strip mall next to the Bi-Lo grocery store, so tons of parking. Live music (folk/bluegrass) tonight. Biggest selection of tap beer in the West Ashley/Avondale neighborhoods. Can't believe it's taken me this long to visit - I'll be back!

This place screams 5! However, I am detracting some points for one simple reason: no food! Sure, I can call local restaurants and have them deliver, but that is a hassle, and I cant have two receipts for dinner on my expense report! I was there on a Wednesday night, so the food trucks weren't there either :( Even some appetizers or something to eat would be better than nothing. But I understand there are legal and licensing implications and all that crap, so I understand.
The beer selection is incomparable and includes just about every style. It was IPA heavy which I don't find to be a bad thing. Stouts, porters, saisons, Belgians, sours, etc. All of the beers I tasted seemed to be fresh. The people working the bar, who I assume by reading previous reviews are husband and wife, were true beer people and loved their job. Who wouldn't love owning a place like this! I was there for Charleston Beer week and they were having drawings for free give-aways like shirts and hats. During Happy Hour, the local SC beers are either half price or $2 or something like that. A pretty good deal.
Best place in Charleston, especially West Ashley for beer, hands down!

The Easterbys make this place what it is. They have selection, cleanliness of lines and glassware along with comfortable seating. They also have quite the following of regulars. But again, the Easterbys are why it is successful.

Wow...super chill place, amazing selection, extremely helpful and knowledgable staff...I've never had such a great experience at a tap house. The bartender spent time explaining all sorts of beer info to a friend and could not have been more helpful. He even gave us sampler pours of beers that were only supposed to be fulls because I'm from out of town and wanted to try all the local beers I could get my hands on. I'm from the west coast and wish this place was way closer.

Came to town so looked this place up and damn I'm glad I stopped by. I had high expectations based on the reviews and they certainly lived up to high numbers.
The owners were tending bar and were very cool. They definitely knew their beer. I'm sure he would offer spot on suggestions if folks needed.
The selection was wonderful, lots of great IPAs, stouts, and sours. I'm not sure how many taps but I would not be surprised if they had over 40 taps.
I had Mexican Cake(s), wOOtstout, and grabbed some Sculpin and La Folie growlers for the evening.
Highly recommended.

The beer's great and the service is fantastic. Richard knows his shit. I dropped in on my way home from a vacation in the area & talked with Richard for a solid hour. The glassware is done right. The lines are clean. This guy absolutely understands beer. Great spot - hope to get back there some time.

I don't think I've ever rated a place a 5 across the board before but this place deserves it. Stopped in on a whim as I passed through Chareston and ended up in a great beer conversation with Richard and Karen as they deftly took care of their other customers. A lot of thought has clearly gone into everything from the glassware to the taps. Amazing selection with knowledge to match. Definitely a must stop in Chareston. I'll be back!

What an awesome place with great beer and great people. Me and my wife went in for a quick beer and ended up staying for three hours. The owners are some of the friendliest people I ever met and they know their beer. I highly advise anyone who comes to charleston check this place out, the beer selection, knowledge, and service is second to none, cheers!

Richard and his team do a magnificent job expanding Charleston's beer horizons. I don't know how he come across some of his brews, but I am glad he does. The place is very friendly and low stress.

Very friendly and knowledgeable owners and staff. Largest selection of tap beer I have ever seen and they are all craft! No mass produced (Budweiser etc) beer at all!
The service is great and they truly no there beers and are very friendly. You always feel like you belong when you walk in.
The tap beer/growler selection is 2nd to none. There bottled beer selection is extremely extensive too.
Very clean and comfortable setting. Nice place to spend an afternoon or evening.
By far surpasses all other combination craft stores/bar

There's 170 beers on tap, plus sampler trays and it seems like half the beers are IPA's. ... what more do u need??

A: Even though this place is located in a strip mall, don't let that fool you. A lot of its space is dedicated to the bottled beer they sell, so seating is limited. Still, it's a well laid out bar that's not claustrophobic.
Q: The quality of beer is generally pretty high, though there is some junky stuff to be found. That being said, you won't find any Budweiser, etc. in the bar.
S: The staff is very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They create a very homey atmosphere for the place, which is impressive considering how long it's been open.
S: The selection is solid. The vast array of draft beers is impressive: Local beers (Westbrook, Holy City, Frothy Beard), and national breweries (Great Divide) are represented. The bottle selection is good too: Dogfish Head, Allagash, Geary's, Omnipollo. There are some less than impressive breweries (Fort Collins, e.g.), but the good outnumbers the bad.
On the whole this is a decent, well run place. A good selection and staff all around.

This place is amazing. Charleston was well overdue for a place like this. The selection of bottles and cans blows away anything in the area. There are at least 150 kegs on tap. They feature a lot of South Carolina brewers and an awesome selection from around the country. They're ALL great beers too. Don't come in looking for Budweiser or any other domestics, they might just laugh with you. This place is ONLY Craft Beers. You can get bottles, cans, pints, flights or tastings and fill your growler to go. If you are a craft beer enthusiast or new to the craft beer scene, you really need to check this place out. The staff is like walking, talking beer encyclopedias. They can describe almost any of the beers from memory. They don't talk down to you, making you feel dumb. They really enjoy educating folks about craft beer. It's obvious these folks are in this for their love of beer, not their love of money. The atmosphere is about perfect. It has a real down to earth , friendly feel. Anyone that walks in instantly feels like a regular. They usually have food trucks outside and live bands inside. If you haven't been there yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. This is a craft beer "Don't Miss" for the southeast.

Very friendly & extremely knowledgable staff. They now have 170 beers on tap for growler fills, by the glass, or flights which is mind boggling. Welcoming, relaxed, laid-back atmosphere that includes TV's, occasional live music, and games for the kids. Anyone & everyone in the Charleston area should stop in for a beer and check this place out.
