Kind of a brownish red color with a bit of a tan head, not a bad looking beer

Smell is mainly malt, with a bit of chocolate.

Taste has chocolate with a hint of coffee, and a touch of bitterness at the finish.

Nothing special about the feel, watery comes to mind.

This is my first experience with this style, so I really don't have much to compare it to. It came across to me as a bit watered down, nothing really special about it. I got this as part of a build your own 6 pack, and wanted to try something new. Glad I only have one can of this, not something I would drink on a regular basis.

12oz can pours a medium to dark brown color with a small amount of fizzy tan-colored head that reduces to a thin ring. Smells richly of roasted and toasted malts. Rich dark bread flavor with plenty of roasty and toasty flavors and a little bit of burnt malt, too. Caramel, honey, and molasses round out the flavor. Slight sweetness and a small bitterness with a slightly bitter-burnt aftertaste. Light to medium body with a moderate amount of carbonation mouthfeel.

This was a phenomenal English Dark Mild. The flavor profile and feel are spectacular and it's simultaneously satisfying, tasty, and sessionable. Very remarkable for an American brewery to do this so well! Will buy again.

Clear copper/ brown color with a modest tan head that recedes quickly.
The aroma is caramel, molasses, raisins, plums and hints of dark bread.
The taste is mildly sweet caramel, molasses, plums and a bit of pumpernickel. The finish is just slightly dry with more of the pumpernickel, no real bitterness. The body is light, mild carbonation, very smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a very drinkable brew, great for a session, tasty and enjoyable.

Had on tap at the brewery. Dark brown in color with a tan head. Smells of malt, grain and dark fruit. Flavors of malt, roasted grain and a nuttiness. Light smooth mouth feel. Enjoyable.

not sure why this hasn't hit my glass before. canned just over a month ago, it pours a fairly clean reddish-brown with a tight tan head that's settled to next to nothing. the nose on this is an incredible blend of a lotta caramel, brown sugar, dark fruits, and roasted malts with a backing note of earth and some nuttiness. the flavor profile shines the same with a leading sweetness quickly moving into those roastier notes and finishing with a nice earthy bitterness that lingers. it's light bodied but not super watery, plenty of good carbonation and packs a lot of punch for being 4%. could down these all day, maybe have a sandwich with em. good good stuff.

Pours a dark murky brown with a finger of khaki foam. Aroma is caramel, molasses, dark fruits, caramel and earthy, bready, caramely malts. Little sweetness up front that fades to reveal lightly bitter malts. Flavor profile is caramel, molasses, toffee and chocolate with hints of dark fruit. Earthy, bready, rye malts finish it out. Mouth feel is lightly grainy and then leans into an effervescent, prickly finish. It has a medium thickness. Overall, balanced and with little thrills, it maintains a focused gaze on, lightly sweet and malty.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 12oz can.

Dark brown with a perfectly put together tan froth. So much roastiness and nuttiness in the aroma with a little helping of persimmon, brown sugar and pine to finish. Just the right amount of sweetness on the palate to counter the roasted notes. A tasty take on a classic style.

Draft. Dark brown with light tan head that leaves lots of lacing. Dark roast and tootsie roll. Flavor is mostly a soft dark roast and nuttiness. Tastey. Soft and drinkable.

This beer is just flat out outstanding and exemplary. Plenty delicious, too. What a gorgeous tightly woven blend of dark caramel, rum, toffee, bruised apples, dried lavender, very slight roastiness and sweet spice, dried berries- the contributions from malt, hops and yeast so intricate that they come together into a cohesive whole, and you can't tell where one starts and the other one ends. The beginning of a sip is a touch sweet and brown sugary, but it then immediately dries out and hits you with a crisp finish on the back end. Nothing gets too heavy or out of hand, and each successive sip is a real pleasure. I literally can't imagine a better take on this sort of ale, it's damn near perfect.

On tap at Shamrocks. Pours a mahogany color with a fair head that fades. Aroma of sweet malt and caramel. Taste of malt, caramel with a trace of coffee and chocolate. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Moderate body, smooth and tasty. Easy drinker.

Brownish-orange body; decent head; sheets of foam along the glass. Nutty, toasted grain aroma. Mild malt taste (cold from being served on tap, so it's difficult to pull out much flavor). Medium-Light mouthfeel; coarse; dry finish.

Tried at Maggie's Bar & Grill in Boonville, MO. Decent take on the style. I'd like to try this slightly warmer to see how it plays out.
