From a large bottle, this has a hazy, golden hue. The head is slim and white, and the aroma is a terrific mix of light maltiness and slightly pungent Belgian scents. Yeasty, phenolic, enticing, yet soft. The taste is fruity...peach and apricot. There is a medium body and the finish is lightly spritzy. Nice beer.

Excellent Belgian style beer. Reminds me of a trippel in depth. Smooth w/o the flat sweetness that plagues too many Belgians. IMO, it’s Logboat’s best beer.

This was another beer that I picked up not too long ago at a Walmart in Jefferson City, Missouri when I was out that way not too long ago. Never had anything from Logboat before and this was a nice take on a Belgian Pale Ale that was full, flavorful, and readily accessible for someone who wouldn't be accustomed to this style.

Like any good beer of this style, this poured golden, a bit hazy, and topped off with enough frothy head. That didn't translate to the lacing as very little of it was left behind once the foam subsided and I started taking my sips. Lots of yeast, malt, phenol, and light fruit in the nose as the taste was nearly identical to the nose. Apple, pear, spice, farmhouse funk, and subtle citrus pith all emerged on the palate with the end result being a heavy-handed, funky, and fun brew that could have used just a bit more carbonation to keep things lively and clean. A bit of bread and emerged in the aftertaste as this was a fun sipper that went down quickly and easily.

A nice warming took hold of me as the alcohol was felt more than tasted. The canning date wasn't fully legible but only a few bits of sediment reminded me that this was aged a tad. Love the label design and the pride of coming from the Show Me State as there was lots to enjoy here. Can't get your hands on an imported example of this style in the middle of the country? Reach for this instead!

Can. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small head. Aroma of light fruit, trace of malt, yeast and banana. Taste of light fruit, malt sweetness, an bit of grain. Mild bitterness and fairly clean finish. Light body and smooth. Easy drinker.

Chill hazed golden colored ale with a small white colored head.

Smells malty even from a distance. Scent of candi sugar and coriander. Powdery yeast aroma, smells a little like a witbier.

Starts out malty with a nice sweetness. Lots of Belgian candi sugar in the flavor. Mild coriander taste. Tastes yeasty like a witbier.

Mouthfeel is full.

Overall surprisingly tasty beer.

Rating this beer more to style than personal preference. Taste is spot on to a Belgian pale ale in my opinion. I understand why this won Gold at the GABF.

this is a session type belgian pale or single ale, really well done, very hoppy, integrating american ingredients and belgian brewing tradition, its clear and bright, frothy and inviting looking, holding its tall white head pretty well. the aroma is almost like an ipa, the hops are out in front of the yeast and really are pretty heavy handed. notes of pine and grapefruit, floral honey, and then the yeast, which is pretty classically belgian, crackery and a little spicy, some notes of white grape and orange peel in there too, but i wouldnt call it a fruity yeast complexion compared to what some belgian strains will do under the right (or wrong) conditions. he taste matches the nose, hoppy but not too bitter later on, and there is a lot of body for something this low in alcohol. i think we need more cool session beers that arent just normal pales and india pales, and this is a great stride in that direction, it definitely fills a void in the market, and is one of the more approachable belgian types i have had lately, something for everyone in this tasty brew...

Pours a dark gold with some mild cloudiness. 1 finger off white head which vanishes semi-quick. Minimal lacing.

Aroma is earthy hops and Belgian yeast. Pepper, green apple, and pear.

Classic Belgian yeast on first sip. Malty and doughy. Black pepper, lemon, apple, and straw. Hops, sorta earthy, at the end.

Medium body with crisp carbonation. Earthy and raw on the tongue with just a bit of creaminess at the beginning.

Solid Belgian ale with all the classic characteristics of the style. Earthy, yeasty, and mildly fruity.

Pours a cloudy, gold color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Good retention and good lacing. Pale malt, sweet malt, yeast, hint of hop, and a hint of earthy malt. Fits the style of a Belgian Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation. Tastes of a hint of spice, earthy malt, pale malt, slight sweet malt, hint of alcohol, and a hint of biscuit. Overall, good appearance, simple aroma, good body, and good complexity of body.

Clear, golden color with a bubbly, white head of foam. It smelled of bubblegum and sweet caramel. A touch of grain up from with that phenolic hop bitterness.
