On tap at the Norwich Inn
Pours a dark brown almost black color with a tan head that slowly dissipates to a cap. Roasted grains, caramel, chocolate and earthy floral hops vie for attention in the aroma. Sweet malt roasty earthy aroma. Taste is sweet and roasty up front. Milk and dark chocolate melt with some anise midway through before and earthy bitterness emerges. Hints of smoke with a lingering licorice and sweetness in the finish. Medium to thick body with a creamy smooth mouthfeel and a low level of carbonation. This was my favorite beer at the inn. Its a pretty good stout.
