2014 vintage
Pours a very large foamy rocky 3 finger head with good retention, fair lacing, hazy sediment auburn to maroon color

Nose lots of dark fruits, winey oxidation, fig, plum, date, candied apple, sweet grainy toasted malt, a bit of sweet candy sugar, brown sugar raisin

Taste fair sweet, lots of sugar flavors, brown sugar, dark Belgian candi sugar, toffee, molasses, lots of fruit, candied fig, date, raisin, candied apple pear, chewy caramel, a bit of oxidation port wine like, mild sticky sweet finish, just a touch of smooth alcohol

Mouth is med to fuller bod, syrupy, med to higher foamy carb, alcohol hidden well

Overall nicely aged Belgian strong

This was poured into a chalice. The appearance was a burnt mahogany color with a finger’s worth of slim white head that dissipated at a nice pace leaving some light lacing here and there. The smell had some light caramel malts, Belgian spices, some light caramel and toffee. The taste was mainly sweet through the previously mentioned flavors in a rich thick way. There’s a lingering sweet malty aftertaste with a slight sweet sticky finish. The mouthfeel was about a medium in body with a good sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good and the spices hit my tongue nicely. Overall, this was a nice tripel with a darker color to it. Pretty sure I could have it again.

A: clear; deep bronze in color; less than a 1 finger off white head that receded quickly to a thin cap that sticks around for the whole beer; no lacing;

S: vanilla, molasses, fruit cake, prunes

T: follows the nose; alcohol is noticeable from mid-palate on; finish is sweet - more molasses than anything else; as it warmed, the alcohol was much less noticeable;

M: medium bodied; light carbonation;

O: great flavors, looks great as well; would have liked a little more carbonation;

Pours a one finger off-white head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Hazy amber/brown color. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Sweet malty nose and flavor is sweet dark fruit, smooth, unusual brown. Higher ABV is hidden. $2.04 for a 375ml caged & corked bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, Vt.

First time drinker of Overshores beer. Found this to be very very different. I'm usually drinking a hoppy beer. I thought this was a very smooth great tasting beer. If I had 2 more in the fridge I would have drank them both!!!

12.9 oz bottle: The cork pulls out of this one with almost no sound. It pours a murky mahogany color. There was about no head to it, nor did it leave any lacing. The nose is somewhat sweet. Caramel malts, candi sugar, some plums and other dark fruits. The taste is OK, but there is an overdone syrupy sweetness to it. Caramel malts, brown sugar, dark fruits, a hint of banana. I can’t get by the overly sweet taste and syrup like texture. Not a winner at all.

From the 750 ml. corked and caged bottle. 2014 batch. Sampled on August 17, 2015.

It has a medium amber pour with ruby red hues glistening around the glass. Quick lasting tan head.

Big aroma of sweetness defines it. Belgian candied sugar, caramel malts, toffee malts, brown sugar and everything sweet. Low hop and booze profile for 9.5% ABV.

About a medium body.

Big caramel, toffee, and malt sweetness in the taste to the subjection of everything else. Perhaps a thin earthy bitterness and a slight booze note at the finish. But otherwise, brush you teeth after drinking this sweet brew or you might get a cavity.

Poured gently into an Allagash stemmed glass. Deep red caramel color, quite clear, quite lovely. Minimal head, but a thin off-white cap lasts. The aroma is interesting - I get toffee oozing over warm crusty buttery bread or biscuit (perhaps a tad diacetyl, but really well played). Phenolic and spicy, but really in the medium range with just enough to most of the high alcohol. Flavor is a melange of excellence, BSDA all the way: toffee, caramel, prune, biscuits with butter and jam. I could eat this beer for breakfast with these flavors. The carbonation is crisp and boosts the heavy body into a more drinkable form. I gotta say, this beer is great.
