draught
Medium gold, with a touch of amber & orange, to the look. A bit of a light Belgian spice, and a bit of a tart note, to the aroma. Moderate body, and a touch of a tart bite, with a slightly syrupy feel. A honeyed sweetness starts out the taste, and has a little allspice character to it. The sweetness gives way to the spiced malt, with a very slight edge.

Had this on 2017-02-22 in Warrenville, IL from a 16 oz can.
A - Very clear straw-gold with a 2-finger white head and good lace.
S - Perfume-like Belgian yeast, rising white bead, grassy spice. Nice.
T - Honey drizzled white toast with a dab of pear marmalade. Very good spice flavors, like I imagine sweet potpourri would taste. Mint. There's alcohol sweetness but no heat. Low but evident bitterness for balance.
M - Medium body a light-medium carbonation.
O - Well crafted with tastes that appealed to me. This brew seems festive. A Tripel worth seeking out.

Poured from a 22oz bomber purchased at a new Binny's so not sure why it says retired, bottle dated 11/14/2015.
Pours a beautiful medium amber, with the typical Belgian haze. Aroma is very malty with your typical Belgian yeast funk. Very little head quickly fades. Taste was wonderfully malty with great phenol's imparted by the yeast. Medium body, perfect amount of residual sugar, just enough hop to balance it all out. Where is the 9.7%? I have no clue, but it hides it very well.

Far too sweet, pear juice flavor. Lacking complex yeastiness.
