Big thanks to sblickem for sending this to me!! Part of my PGA Championship box this year. Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 16 oz. can into an El Catador Barrel-Aged glass.

A: Pale gold and quite hazy. Forms a big fluffy white head that stays around pretty well. Good amount of visible carbonation.

S: Pretty nice here – citrus and tropical fruits, melon and a bit dank. Some pineapple, lychee, tangelo, and just a bit of floral. Cracker malts body stays pretty light. Pretty appealing nose.

T: Melon and dank. Pineapple and tangelo and lychee and mango fruit whip. Cracker malts and I'm assuming it's oats adding a bit of thickness. More juicy tangerine and citrus pith with tropical fruits and melon in the hang. Modestly bitter at the swallow.

M: An average body for a NE IPA. Low alcohol presence and good carbonation sensation.

O: I had never heard of this brewery, but I gotta say I’m quite impressed. This was a really well-executed take on a NE IPA. Maybe it's not quite a Trillium-level beer. But this deserves to be up there. It's nicely put together and quite juicy. I don’t know if this is a limited/brewery-only beer, or if it's sitting around on the shelves – but if it’s the latter, this would be a constant in my fridge. Really nice. Need to look out for these guys.

Canned 8/20/16 and drank 9/13/16. This is a excellent IPA. Hazy orange pour with moderate head and plenty of lacing. Smell is full of fruity hop goodness, the brewers really captured the essence of the hop. Taste is similar to the nose with lots of citrus notes. Bitterness skews the beer off balance just a bit, but it's far from off putting. Mouth feel shows good balance between the carbonation and viscosity. Overall this is another great addition to the Chicago beer scene.

Had this on 2017-11-13 in Warrenville, IL from a 16oz canned on 2017-11-02

A - Hazy but not opaque orange-gold with a 1-finger white head and moderate lace.

S - Tons of citrus flesh, light pine, light dank, bread crust, floral.

T - Citrus, papaya, oat, light pepper and pine, grassy and herbal spice, mild-moderate bitterness.

M - Medium-full body and light carbonation. Soft and smooth like a creamsicle.

O - Very nice example of a NEIPA on the lower ABV side. Worth seeking out.

Fingernail of eggshell white covers most of the top. Light lacing. The aroma is of tropical fruit and tangerine. I'm tasting orange juice and a bit of pineapple. The mouth is resinous and a bit dense.

A - Pours an opaque light orange color with a thick white head. Head settles to a thin cap that never goes away.
S - Aroma is juicy, citrusy.
T - Flavor is sweet, maybe orange, then bready and some bitterness on finish.
M - Carbonation is medium, mouth feel is creamy.
O - Pretty good beer, headed in the right direction. If they were going for an eastern IPA, they fell short. Not juicy enough, and way too creamy.

Pours a very hazy golden yellow with a gentle orange hue and a fluffy finger of white foam.

Citrusy fruit notes greet the nose pleasantly while a bit of yeasty esters emerge as well.

Orange and grapefruit citrus fruit dominate the hop bill, but there is a slight tropical fruit note of mango undertones.

Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation, tight carbonation, soft and creamy mouthfeel.

Overall, while this may not top true NE IPAs it's a fantastic brew and very well done.

Opaque hazy dark orange, compact layer of creamy foam that lasts for a good while.
Citrusy tangerine aroma, grapefruit, trace grainy pale malt underneath.

Resiny and bitter taste, grapefruit peel, earthy herbal hops have a lingering bitterness that extends into the dry aftertaste.
Lacking a bit of the more delicate citrus qualities the aroma had, it's more of a straightforward IPA profile.
Feel is fairly smooth, and carries it across the palate nicely. Overall it's pretty good, though not my favorite from Hailstorm.

A pint can that a friend purchased at the brewery with a date stamp of 08/20/16 poured in a 13oz. tulip.

Look- Pours a slightly cloudy and lively gold color leaving three fingers of soapy white foam that slowly settles revealing medium lacing.

Smell- Cotton candy sweetness along with pineapple, mango, grapefruit and orange zest.

Taste- Grapefruit and passionfruit up front followed by heavy floral notes. There is a guava-like taste and acidity in the finish.

Feel- A little thin with a bitter and slightly acidic quality.

Overall- Another likable IPA from Hailstorm. While they may not have nailed the style just yet, they appear to be on to something. With a little tweaking, these clouds could be something special. Don't let that keep you away in the meantime!

Pours a hazy golden orange. Nose is of tropical fruits and light malts. Taste of tropical fruits, mangos specifically, light fresh citrus, grass and pale malt. Fairly juicy. A little light on feel but it finishes crisp and semi dry. Not overly bitter. A really nice NEIPA
