Hazy pale yellow, almost looked like water pouring out of the can. Compact layer of foam and random spotty lace.
Smells like acidulated wheat malt, sourdough.
Tastes moderately sour, lemony and tart. Puckering, crisp and clean. Light doughy wheat, clean aftertaste.
Overall it's pretty quenching, would be a nice summer release instead of mid-november, but i'll take it.
The jelly doughnut on the label obscurely references Kennedy's speech in Berlin where he declared himself a doughnut.

Pours a very hazy, watered-down lemonade color, highly effervescent if you look closely enough, with two fingers of bright white head that are quick to dissipate and leave minimal lacing.
The nose is pretty interesting. It has some of the light sour notes expected, and a slight, appropriate skunkiness, but also an unexpected doughy element. Pretty dry smelling overall.
The taste is much better. Refreshingly tart right up front and through the aftertaste. The doughy character is dialed down to just a hint. There's also a faint fruitiness to it -- lemon, berries -- but nothing over the top.
Light bodied with the tartness contributing to a slight mouth puckering feel.
I was a bit worried by the nose, but this is a great tasting Berliner Weisse. Great can art, too. Definitely worth trying. Canned on 11/8/16.
