A bomber with a date stamp of 11/21/16 poured in a Half Acre snifter.
Look- Pours a thin oily black leaving a few centimeters of light tan foam. It settles to a thin layer leaving no lacing behind.
Smell- Dark roasted malt, bakers chocolate, dark fruit and some molasses.
Taste- Dark roasted malt, semi sweet dark chocolate, figs, tobacco and leather. A bit of wood in the finish.
Feel- Thin but oily with a slight palate tingling sensation.
Overall- A very well crafted stout loaded with robust flavor and very easy drinking for the hefty 13% abv. The feel was slightly thinner than I like my stouts, but that's splitting hairs in the big picture. I'd definitely buy this again and I'm hoping some found it's way into barrels for a future release.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 11/21/16, had 12/16/16.
Pours a deep brown, thick looking and opaque, with a one inch head of darker foam and a fair amount of soapy lacing. The smell is roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa, toffee, vanilla, light coconut, a touch of smoke. Has a really good aroma. The taste also begins with the malt, then big cocoa/chocolate, caramel, molasses, light coconut and vanilla, a little coffee. Very smooth and creamy, a solid, full body, well carbonated.
Big, full flavors, great aroma. Wish there was more coconut, but it does have a presence. This would seem like a natural for Bourbon or Whiskey barrel aging. A very well crafted beer.

22 oz bottle from Binnys poured into two snifters with Lisa. Big, brown fluffy head. Very dark and pretty thick. Coconut and milk chocolate nose, nothing stands out. Taste is not pleasant. Gross coconut and I guess the caramel do not pair well. Sweet tasting but thin body. Avoid this one.

Appearance- The beer was a murky brown color with mocha colored bubbles clinging to the side.
Smell - There is a big coffee nose here.
Taste - There is coffee, coconut, and graham cracker present here. The sweet this is almost syrupy. The coconut seems fresh and you could almost since it being flaky. Despite there being a lot going on, it all comes together well.
Mouthfeel - The beer seemed is almost syrupy in the flavor, which carries over into the mouthfeel.
Overall - Hailstorm certainly does some great stuff.
