Dark black body. One finger offwhite head, good retention, no lacing. Smell is chocolate, maple, a bit of espresso, whiskey, bit of roast. Flavour follows, fair bit of maple sweetness on top of the imperial stout base, a bit of bourbon added. Mouthfeel is medium-fuller bodied, good carbonation, smooth with a good silkiness to it. Overall, a very pleasant surprise with a nice big dose of maple to it.

750 ml bottle into a snifter. Had on 5/27/17.
Pours thick looking, very dark and opaque, with a one inch head and some soapy lacing. Aromas of malt, maple- more as it warms, bourbon, some coffee, a little caramel, light vanilla and licorice. Smells great. The taste is malt, bourbon, maple, cocoa, coffee, caramel, oak, light vanilla and molasses. Smooth, somewhat creamy, a solid full body, well carbonated.
An excellent use of maple, with a great balance of flavors throughout. The barrel is subtle, but effective. Definitely well worth a purchase.

2016 version.
L: Pours dark, with a fairly thin head line
S - Sweet and some bourbon.
T - Very boozy, but the maple sweetness cuts it perfectly. It's about what I envision a Bourbon County Rare with maple added. Just a little more booze than I want, but that's nitpicking.
F: Not too thin, not too thick - just about what I'd want it to be.
O: Great BBA stout, wish I had another!

Smell: smells like Sunday morning breakfast hot pancakes drizzled with maple syrup. Along with some sweet bourbon oak coconut and milk chocolate
Taste: An absolute explosion of maple syrup! It's exactly like the nose it's warm buttered chocolate chip pancakes flooded with maple syrup with hints of coconut shavings paired with a nice cup of medium roast coffee. in the finish you get a light amount of oak and booziness to balance out the sweetness. Absolutely everything I would ever want from a barrel aged maple Stout.
Feel: Medium bodied extremely creamy and velvety. This beer just glides across the plate. It's extremely smooth. The beer isn't super chewy but it helps that it's a tad thinner. It allows the creaminess to shine and makes the beer way to damn easy to drink!
Overall: My mind is blown. This is better then Rye Hipster which I love and just as good as nuclear no rules which is probably the best barrel aged beer I've ever had. Everything and then some when it comes to what I was expecting. 100/100 +++++!

The maple craze of 2017 was perfected in this beer, so smooth and delicious it is dangerous. Granted, there is a decent sweetness at the finish, but it is not overpowering, rather it is the perfect finish to a symphony of flavor. Maple delight with wonderful bourbon and malt depth! Supporting vanilla, caramel, and chocolate. Barrel candy
