Excellent beer. Dark with reddish/purple edging. Smell is strong berry and barrel notes. Taste is really berry forefront but a roasty, chocolaty, boozy background. Everything meshes well together. Feel is jammy, mouth watering, slightly oily. Big boozy burn. Reminiscent of 13 Backyard Rye.

Really nice work here with the berries being front and center but having balance with the bourbon, dark chocolate, molasses and a touch of vanilla. The black berries took the lead of raspberries, but both very present in sweet and slightly tart ways. Boyd was viscous and sneaky light, while not sacrificing depth of flavor. For a fruit dessert stout they nailed the taste.

Near black body with a frothy tan head. Berries and chocolatre for aroma; not much for bourbon barrel. Full flavored with notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, roast, and a good dose of raspberry and blackberry; oak and bourbon are more in the backgound. Thick & full body, ample carbonation, gets to be overly sweet, booze is warming but not hot. Overall, great incorporation of the berries in the bold BA imperial stout flavors.

Hailstorm is killing with these fruit Vlad's. This one is super sweet, but not annoyingly sweet. Very berry forward, with some nice chocolate on the back end, and a very faint bourbon aftertaste. I'm not getting as much barrel as I normally do with other Vlad's, but over all, I really like this.
