made a trip to hailstorm just to try tis beer - had to buy couple cans to share with my beer friends
how brewers can get certain flavors in a beer is unbelievable - the beer reminded me of spumoni ice cream I had as a kid.
poured great dark , good head - besides spumoni- a great variety of flavors

Amazing blend with the barrel aged Stout and the cherry! Must try for those who like barrel aged stouts with hints of fruit. Liked better than Neapolitan.

Had on tap. So much marzipan/almond here with pistachio, almost loses the chocolate and cherry. The bourbon feels disconnected with the rest of beer. Feel is slightly broken and viscous. I like marzipan so I didn't hate this, but definitely not my favorite vlad, hard to get down a whole glass. Taste is a bit overwhelming and lacks usual vlad nuance

This was a flop. I am a huge Hailstorm Vlad fanboy. Literally just reviewed Vlad Neapolitan a few days ago and raved how it was my favorite BA Stout of all time. Spumoni....No
First off, the smell. Absolutely reeks of pistachios. I love eating pistachios, but this smell reminds me of really fake artificial ones. Honestly the only thing I could smell is the fake pistachios, and there's chocolate and cherries in here.
It definitely tastes better than it smells. It's pretty fruity and has some chocolate and bourbon on the back end, but those damn fake pistachios punch you in the face. Way in front of everything else.
I am disappointed by this. This is just a bad beer, and again, that's coming from someone who has really really enjoyed all other Vlads. I think they should have just made this into a cherry chocolate stout, because the pistachios absolutely killed this for me. First time I've ever had dump out a Vlad bottle.
