BBA Vlad Hazelnut is a thick dessert beer filled with lots of hazelnut flavor. The beer has a oily texture from the nut addition and the viscosity is about as thick as you can get. Vlad is aggressive on the palate with an abundance of earth and wood. Chocolate is present throughout the finish.

Vlad is a true dessert beer.

Pours thick and pitch black. 1 finger tan head. Amazing there's any head with the ABV, and even more that it lasted for a while. The head dissipates into a ring around the glass.
The nose is HOLY COW! Deep and rich chocolate aroma, like a chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven. The hazelnut, just kicks it up even more. There's no boozy aroma to this beer.
Taste - Deep rich chocolate, with a hazelnut backbone.
Smooth, thick and rich. Full bodied. Minimal boozy feeling. Minimal burn.
DAMN! This is a crazy delicious beer.

Canned 10/22/19; drank 1/8/20 @ the Yarchives.

Black appearance.

A violent pour yielded a big tan head; strong, frothy tree-rung lace.

Coconut, chocolate syrup & hazelnut notes in the nose.

Thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Coconut, chocolate syrup & hazelnut flavors; astringent booze heat on the finish.

Cloying, artificial tasting & way too hot; a complete miss. Avoid this one.

Had on tap. Pour jet black with a brown head that fades quickly. Smell captures the fullness of the hazelnut with the roast, nut, and subtle sweetness all there, with chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla supporting, very pure. Taste is much the same, though the malts do weigh in on the adjunct flavors a little more, barrel also has a larger presence with the wood, bourbon mash and booze all complimenting the nuttiness and the rich chocolate. Feel is roasted, full but not heavy, slightly boozy but not largely influenced by the barrel, and generally warm. Would be a perfect dessert beer at Christmas. The wife liked it

Liquid Nutella mixed with a big RIS... incredibly well made offering from the folks at Tinley Park... 14.1% is super duper sneaky...face first sneaky... I've had several of the Vlad variants and this is near the top although all of them are amazing... I would have this in the fridge all the time if I could... it's that memorable... nothing fake in the flavors at all... I am buzzing through this faster than I want to but its just really damn delicious.... highly highly recommended if you see it as are all of the Vlad variants....
