The colour is warm brown (60 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger head is compact and off-white; it slowly sinks down leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell is hoppy and bitter with lots of floral hops. Some hints of dark malt sourness. Roasted malts reminds me of caramel and pumpernickel. Tree sap and golden treacle in the background.

The taste is malty with roasted brown flavours. The bitterness evolves into an odd chemical tartness. Medium body. The aftertaste is malty and quite bitter with pumpernickel, tree sap, brown sugar and a touch of alcohol. The finish is spicy with some bitter flavours.

The carbonation is medium strong, lots of smooth fresh mid-sized bubbles. The liquid is light (but not watery).

British brown ale is not really my favourite style, they tend to be either dusty or filled with odd wax-like flavours. This one is one of the latter. But all in all, it is not a bad brew for those who appreciate the style.

The beer has a brown color more little red hue in. The foam is beige with small to medium bubbles in a good solid foam. The foam disappears leisurely quickly and leave fine traces. The smells of roasted malt meets one, with tun floral hops. A little chocolate, a little dried fruit, dark bread. Some sweetness of the syrup and a little caramel. The taste is also a roasted malt flavor with a round bitterness. Here's some coffee up with chocolate and dried fruits. Some sweetness of the syrup and a little caramel. The aftertaste is slightly sweet and malty with just enough bitter flavors that lasts for a while. Medium body, medium bitterness. Occasionally with carbon dioxide that comes with. Some small and medium sweet bitter and has a deep flavor.
