The colour is jet black; the two finger head is brown and compact. It sinks slowly to a thick lid leaving no lacing.
The smell is sweet with lots of cocoa, dark rye bread and caramel. Strong alcohol, smoked whisky in the background.
The taste starts with some salt and smoke. Caramel, liquorice, dark chocolate, sweet molasses and brown sugar. Medium to full body. The aftertaste got growing notes of mature Islay whisky, tree sap, green bell peppers, caramel and salt liquorice. The finish is somewhat harsh with dry notes of Irish Coffee.
The carbonation is light to medium; the small bubbles long-lived. The liquid is smooth and a little sticky.
A balanced oak aged imp stout with a nice addition of liquorice.
