Classic Brittish Amber Ale. Malt forward and lots of caramel both on the nose & palate.
Great food-beer.

Small head, but it puts out some decent lace (a cross between spots and blanket). The color is deep amber, borderline light brown. Crystal clear.
Some smells of iron from the otherwise neutral "amber" (read, slightly toasty, crystal malt) smell.
Creamy body with a very low carbonation. The initial flavor is a stale caramelized malt base. Almost no hop to provide balance. Overall, very disappointing after having two creative and very unusual beers. Easy to drink if you are having many, but not interesting enough to try as a beer to be rated.

The colour is amber with a tint of brown (22 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger head is beige and compact; it sinks quickly leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell is malty with some brown bread, spicy hops and ripe dried fruits. Light bitterness in the background, hints of green plants.
The taste is smooth with sweet notes of brown toast, light spices and dried fruits. It is quite clean with focus on the lightly roasted malts. Hints of fruit candy. Medium body. The after taste brings a little more bitterness, some plums and wholegrain flour. Passing notes of red apples and a touch of tree sap. The finish is smooth and balanced with some bread flavours.
The carbonation is medium strong, the many large bubbles are short-lived. The liquid is semi-smooth.
A very balanced beer that will offend nobody.
