Really spacious dining areas, private banquet room, and large outdoor patio dining area....well decorated with comfortable bar seating....13 TV's and a giant TV behind the bar that can be viewed from anywhere inside.
Typical upperclass food selections....a little pricy.
Stopped in for a beer before the Angel Baseball game and while busy, it wasn't overly crowded. Dropped in for another after the game and it was practically empty inside.
Large stainless fermentation tanks behind floor to ceiling glass wall on one side of the restaurant have the names of the beers they are holding on the outside so you don't need to see a menu to choose your beer.
Simple 5 or 6 beer selection of house brews with apparently no specials or seasonals being done.
Tried their IPA (named after the city - Anaheim IPA) and was really surprised with it's wonderful flavor, balance, and depth...so good I didn't sample any others but stuck with that beer all night. I'll have to return to try some of their others.
Service was good at the bar and the pint glasses were unusual and very comfortable. So much so, I bought one to take home with me.
No growler sales, however, which is a bummer. I would sure love to be able to take some of their IPA home with me as well.
Great place for before or after a baseball or hockey game.

I've only visited this place once before a UFC fight at the Honda Center located right across the street. Good beer, good service and ok food. Considering the other bars and restaurants in the area I'm not sure if I'll go back.

This is right next to the Ayres hotel in Anaheim so I went there twice last over the weekend. The restaurant itself is nice with a clean look about it. It was pretty empty both times I went here.

I had the sliders the first time, and these were overly greasy. The second time I went I had the pizza and this was surprisingly good.

The beer is mediocre, which is better than I expected. They don't have a single guest tap, so you have no choice but to drink their beer.

The prices were reasonable.

The service here is terrible. The bartenders had horrible attitudes and seemed like incredibly miserable people. Servers would come up to the bar and talk shit about patrons at tables, not caring who overheard. Bartenders wouldn't make eye contact with patrons and would just walk away when people were ordering. It took forever to place orders and get the check both times. The day shift was bad and the night shift was bad, so apparently the theme of negativity is pervasive with the staff.

Definitely not a place to seek out.

Visited in 2009 to tick their beers and again in 2010 to try the Roggenbier. Both times I stopped in were during the day.

The place is pretty and clean. Really nice counter tops, and tables. Parking is a bitch. There are all of about 3 parking spots out front and everyone else gets to park in the dirt parking lot out back.

Servers are sparse and they dont know much about the beer, which isn't all that bad so long as the info is on the menu. But even when the servers do talk they dont say much, just "what can I get you?" and "that'll be $6."

Haven't tried the food yet, maybe some day I will. I'm imagine that this place fills up on game days as it's across from the Pond and down the street from the Angel's stadium.

This is usually my stop before an Angels game so I don't have to pay $12 for a corona at the game.

The place has a chain feel to it. From the waiters to the menu to pretty much everything about it. It is a chain. But I was just pointing out that it feels like one for sure. Food is pretty good but a little pricey but not too bad. The beer is just OK. Nothin to really say about it. Typical brew pub beers. Hefe, oat stout, ipa, pale, kolsh. Nothing interesting. I really wish there was something better to go to before the game. Maybe I will have to open something ; )

JT's is the best place for beers in Anaheim. If that means anything.

They were the only brewery in the are where all the beers were drinkable, even order-able.

Atmosphere is sports bar meets brewery meets restaurant. With a good mix. Fun for an Angels (and I am sure Ducks) game, but subdued for an afternoon happy hour. There are a dozen or so TVs, so you can see one in every seat, but also few enough to ignore them. They turn on a 80s90s mix of music when there are not local games on.

Great patio, not too much sun or shade. Small bar in courtyard when they are busy.

The main bar in the center seats about 35, so it is fun. There is power at the end closest to the fermenters, so you can plug in your computer; and they have free wireless.

Food is typical pub trying to be more then a pub-fare.

I very much like this place, very comfortable at the bar. Just about perfect for the area.

Another brew pub that I stopped by after spending a day at Disneyland. About a 15 minute drive. I made sure there were no sporting events going on as it is located right across from a sporting venue. 6 beers on tap. Nothing too memorable with a Honey Ale as their seasonal - at winter time too. Food was fine...I just ordered a burger. Service was good, but then again, when I was there, they were not very busy at all. I could see, maybe, coming here before a Hockey Game, but not really going out of my way to make it here.

Located right across from The Pond & right down the street from Disneyland in Anaheim. Situated in wacky strip mall like spot. Parking was kinda difficult. Lots of TVs as it seems to be a sports fan & family type restaurant destination.

6 or so of their own brewed beers. I had the stout, which I really liked as it was nice & dry, and the IPA. The IPA was nice & hoppy. Nothing to overwhelm you, but a nice example of the style.

The server was quite nice & attentive. No worries in that department.

Food was fine. Had nachos, a burger, & chicken sandwich.

Good spot to stop in at if going to a game, but there are better options in town.

This place sat in the shadow of the Honda Center, which was right across the street. Our server, Diana Z., told us that she did $10 K in sales one night while working on the patio and for that reason, she recommended that people NOT visit after a Ducks game. The place gets jammed to the gills, the servers become frazzled, and it just is not pleasant.

It was pleasant at opening on a Saturday morning just after opening when my brother and I stopped by on our Orange County excursion. The parking lot fronted a large archway followed by a sweeping path up to the front door and beyond that, a patio area. Entering, the m.d.s. with its glass case for logo items sat at a left-oblique with the oddly angular mica and dark marble-topped bar beyond and on a right-oblique to the doorway. Against the back wall, behind glass, was a bank of six (6) FVs, followed by the brewhouse off to the right. The right wall was dominated by the kitchen, which was also behind glass. The Barley Room, a banquet facility, was in the far left rear corner and the Reagan Room, a semi-private meeting room, was directly to the left of the m.d.s.

Beers: Extra Stout (6.7); Emil's Amber Ale (5.2); Hefeweizen (5.2); JT Light (4.8); IPA (6.9); and Honey Ale (5.8). Both my brother and I stuck to the very hoppy IPA. Note: No growler sales due to their proximity to the local sports venues.

Mom: On a slow day like when we visited, sure! On a game night, even I might be headed elsewhere.

There are some place that I have to go to a few times...to at least get a feel for the place before I make a judgement about it. This is one of those places.

Atmosphere: Descent-vibe, but a little up-scale to just go there and enjoy a beer.

Quality: Up-scale and very nice.

Selection: Okay selection with about 6 to 8 Schmid's brewed beers on-tap. Typical beers like IPA, Stout, Hefe and so on.

Food: Very tasty. A little over-priced.

Value: Pricey

Overall: Not the first place I think of going to...but they do brew descent and good quality beer. A nice change of pace is the best way to describe this place. You won't be disappointed, but you won't leave the place overly excited.

Visited on a Friday afternoon just before 1:00pm. Note that JT Schmid's is literally across the street from Honda Stadium (aka Pond of Anaheim). Plan accordingly: avoid the area if there's a game or concert.

Parking was a moderate hassle; all paved spots were taken in the smallish strip mall, so we parked in a dirt lot around the corner.

We were seated on the breezy, shaded outdoor patio with its own bar (closed during our visit). There were a couple of other parties on the patio: one large, one small. The interior decor was the boringly familiar dark room decorated in brass and dark wood with the requisite flat screens beaming sports at everyone's eyeballs. It was, however, a good sized room that was almost full for Friday lunch.

The beers were a notch above average, as was the food. We ordered the nachos. Even though it's on the appetizer menu, there was enough on this one plate to feed two hungry men. They did get a little soggy by the end, but they were very tasty and sported what seemed like site-made chips.

Worth a visit if in the area, but not really a destination.

I visited JT Schmid's in Anaheim for the second time this week. I don't have much to say about anything other than the beer. I had a cheese and tomato pizza that was pretty good and tried their sweet potato fries. I had three pints: amber, stout, and IPA. The amber is solid, good, but not special. The IPA is better. It's quite dark and red for an IPA. The stout is the best, though. It is really, really good. The mouthfeel is really heavy and creamy. The finish is very sweet, chocolately, and roasty. A very good stout that compares well with some of the bigger name, highly sought after stouts from So Cal.

Although this establishment has been around for ten years, I never stepped inside the place until yesterday. It was my first day of school and the weather was hot, so why not try out the place for a beer?

The inside is extrememly plush and looks like it was opened ten days ago instead of ten years ago. The bar sits in the middle of the restaurant with televisions dominating one side of a wall. It was very quiet inside, not surprising given it was 3pm on a Monday, with blues playing from the ceiling and contributing to the atmosphere. I stepped to the bar and peaked at their drafts. Five beers were printned on the menu (blonde ale, IPA, hefeweizen, amber, and extra stout). My got my hefeweizen and was refreshed.

But I was heartbroken over a few issues. First, I was dissapointed to learn there was NO HAPPY HOUR. Most brewpubs I've been to have a happy hour, but this was did not. Another issue I had was the price of drafts. Pints went for $5.50 while most other brewpubs take out a dollar or more. Going with the surroundings, it's going to take a little more from your wallet should you decide to come here, for both food and beer. Speaking of food, I didn't try any, but there were a few at the bar who had were eating some tasty-looking entrees.

JT's is a fresh, modern looking restaurant. The brewpub part seems to be a sideshow where steaks and wood-fired pizzas take the spotlight. Give it a try if you happen to be in the area, but it's not the end of the world if you don't.

*** Stop in if you are going to an Angels or Ducks game across the street. Otherwise, don't bother ***
Life is full of ironies, eh? I woke up to read an article about improving the area around the baseball stadium and one mention of JT's Brewery was in the article so I considerd checking it out. Later that day I get a free ticket to the Angels game and lo and behold we hit JT Schmid's. It's a modern clean wood and metal interior restaurant first and a brewpub second. Swag and merch is hocked the minute you walk in. Go capitalists! We passed on the food and went right for the homerun flavor: IPA.

The IPA rocked! Killer IPA. We even went back for another after the game.

Selection is average. A stout, lager, IPA, red and another yawn inducer. No artisianal beers but oh, that IPA!

Staff was running ragged swinging suds for the crowd that no doubt is a result of the game. Kinda tunafied when I paid that tab so I forget exactly how much but it was pricey. They DON'T FILL GROWLERS.

Could you bring your Mother here? Yes. Mom could cop a squat with ease.

Last call: The bathrooms look like your high school principal's office. Only had the IPA 'cos the selection bah-lows! Go IPA suckah! Now growler it, bitches!
