Nice thick warm white foam that slowly sinks without leaving much residue on the glass. The liquid is golden yellow and fairly clear .
The scent is unclean, and a bit yeasty, it reminds me a lot of German kellerbiers . Fat floral hop notes, again, it is quite German . Some Digestive crackers the background.
The taste is first very bitter, but it passes pretty quickly. Then, light caramel and somewhat musty sweetness. Though it also passes quickly . The alcohol is more powerful than I had expected. Floral hops and soft bitterness in the aftertaste but also a certain uncleanness - perhaps yeast, maybe a little butter. The end is relatively light, it is dominated by cereal sweetness and a somewhat sharp bitterness.
The bubbles are small, sharp and short lived. The liquid is creamy .
There are some flaws here and there, but as a kellerbeer, it is not that bad. A little cleaner, a little less residual sugar and a little more balance in the hopping, this lager will probably be a decent beer.
