Agua Mala
Very Good
Notes: Golden color with honey notes, hops aromas associated with tropical fruits. Its hoppy character of medium bitterness in the mouth also exhibits herbaceous notes followed by caramel notes.

Also had this one on the Baja trip of 2017. Also consumed at that winery we visited with the awesome views.

Pours a malty color, looks solidly amber, dem amber waves of grain going on, off white head 1/3". Aroma was plenty bitter, there will be no skimping on the bittering hops on this beer, the commercial tug job claimed 120 IBU! Not really all that aromatic of a hop experience though. My trip down there revealed that they're big on amping up the ibu, but proprietary dry hopping is still relatively undone.

Taste was nice, it wasn't all hefty caramel crystal malt, this drinks lighter than its appearance. Tough to gauge how it did with the alcohol, the ABV is listed anywhere from 6.5% to 8.5%. Tasted like 7% to me. Rock solid presence of C bittering hops though, usual pine and grapefruit taste descriptors there. So we used to have a good amount of beers like this in the hop game 20 years ago, but this was actually a bit better than most of the crystal malt 100ibu beers of yesteryear. Not as heavy.

Label sports a silver medal at the world beer cup.

Clear amber color with off-white foam. Aroma is quite malty with orange candy notes and resiny hops. Taste follows with bittersweet orange rind and piney hop resin. Aftertaste lingers with woody/earthy hop bitterness. Medium minus body with medium carbonation. Really old school IPA with some harsh hop flavors and some alcohol warmth.

Clear red-amber colour, very little sediments. Honey and sweet tropical fruits smell.
The taste is also on the sweet side (guava, pineapple, raisins) balanced by a very faint bitterness. Highly drinkable, inspite of the alcohol content. Recommened!

Golden copper color, crystal clear, with a light tan head. Some citrus and lots of pine on the nose.

Taste is fruity citrus and loads of resiny pine - almost astringently bitter, but a bit of malt pulls it back, and the oily mouthfeel helps. Nice classic West Coast IPA.

On guest tap at Cerverceria Huérfana in Saltillo. The board said 8.5, but hard for me to tell.

I described it as a umami bomb--bitter and a bit sour and earthy, which was an amazing combination. Malts and hops in good balance. Will look for in a store here.

Bottled 1/19/16. Best by 5/19/16. 7.1% ABV per the label.

Pours a clear dark orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, candied citrus zest, grapefruit juice, pine needle, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with candied citrus zest, pine needle, and earthy hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid flavors, but the smell on this one has a better mix of hop qualities to me.

Serving type: bottle.

Amber color with a huge mushroom thick off-white head with eternal retention and leaving strong laces.
Aroma with notes of grapefruit, lychees, spices, pine, flowers and toasted malts.
Very hoppy flavor, made me sneeze right away. Then its malt base starts to show up trying to put some order in the hop orgy. Bold flavor with notes of resin, grapefruit, spices, biscuit and toasted malts, orange peel, tea bags and perfume. Dry aftertaste with a respectful long lasting bitterness. The 120+ IBUs mentioned in the label is not a fluke.
Full body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 7.1% abv is well hidden.
No lo somos, ¡viva México, cabrones! Well executed DIPA with a traditional recipe (though this example has an abv more like an American IPA, but malt base and hopping is dictating the style); I see why they got an award on the WBC. Got the attention of this hophead.

L- Clear copper body and well carbonated white head.
S- Pine and resin.
T- Very strong pine, hops and flowers. Barely felt any bitter aftertaste. Good malt balance.
F- Smooth and rich.
O- My first double IPA. Amazing, but I still need to adapt to this style's hop strength.

Very nice IPA, not an IIPA as this page suggests. Pours golden hazy with a white foam head. Aroma is excellent of american hops, citric and fruity. Bitterness is well balanced with the mal.

My sample came from a Mexican supermarket and I was surprised they even had any craft. My sample is also 7.1 ABV, not 8.5

A - Clear, pretty copper, small head some cling.

S - Nice sweet malt dominate, bitter hops also evident.

T - Nice. Malt is pleasant, medium sized, and hops are evenly matched.

M - Medium body, somewhat creamy, good carbo and balance.

D - In spite of relative high ABV, could easily have a few of these.
