Whoa, this pils caught me off-guard. What a hoppy kick from the Saaz and Motueka. Floral lemon aroma. Dry finish, but not astringent. Damn, this is a hell of an amped up German pils.

For me this is a near perfect Pilsner. It has incredible flavor good balance and off the charts drink ability. One of my big problems is I think it is incredibly underrated as a Pilsner. For instance you will quickly notice that there are no pilsners on the beer advocate top 250. Is this because there aren't any great pilsners or is this because the style just doesn't get the ratings to style that it should? I think we should ask ourselves this more often when writing beers and take an account how it rates within the style, instead of comparing it to say a barrel aged Imperial Stout or a double IPA. Well those are just my thoughts.

Pours a hazy golden straw-colored body hosting a 2 inch fluffy luscious off-white head. Head fades to a buscuity inch with good staying power after a couple of minutes. Nose is both citrusy and breadth with both a German malt feel and a fresh crispness to the aroma. Flavor is definitely more in the American side in terms of Pilsner, but it is spot on for me. It is crisp and refreshing while still having a wonderful feel to the backbone of this beer. I think I have found my new favorite lawnmower beer. This is a wonderful all-around beer regardless of the style, but in all honesty it is one the best pilsners I've ever had.

12oz can, sample from the brewery.

Perfect clarity, lovely drop of lacing on the glass. Spicy herbal hop nose, clean and grassy. Big crispness, lighter body. Clean hop flavor, soft resin, grassy, herbal, spicy. Grainy with some cracker like maltiness. Dry and very drinkable. I figured it would be good ... but it was a bit of a surprise to taste something so crushable.

12 oz can in a glass. Fresh: 27 Sept. 2016 canning date.

Look: The light golden body is not quite as sparkling clear as expected for style. Plenty of rising carbonation topped by a durable white head. Nice lacing.

Aroma: just OK. As hoppy as expected. Grassy with some floral and herbal notes. A hint of lemon.

Flavor: appropriate strength and balance of hops and malts. Notably better than the aroma. .

Feel: medium body with medium carbonation; semi-dry finish; full and smooth for style.

Overall: a pilsner from a brewer known for unconventional beers? Good but not great.

On tap at brewery.
Too bland for my tastes. But still better than a Miller Lite.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a light golden color with some murkiness. Has a medium sized white head. The aroma is a hops with some grass. The taste is a nicely balanced blend of hops and malt.

Pale yellow color. Smell is slightly bready. Flavor is very light, but crisp. I have to say I do not care for Pilsners. They are too light for my liking, but this is probably one of the best I've ever had. Could see myself revisiting this.
