Notes: A balanced, soft, and juicy IPA. Ripe passion fruit and citrus hop aroma lead to a full, fruit-forward hop flavor that washes over the palate, ending with subtle bitterness. Some folks say they don’t like hoppy beers, and to that we say that hops do not equal bitterness. Hops offer a whole world of flavors, not just bitterness. In Tropicália, they exude a luscious fruit journey your palate can enjoy over and over without fatigue.

This beer is so great. It doesn’t matter if you’re new to IPA’s, new to drinking beer, or a master brewer…we can all agree that this is the benchmark of a great IPA. Love it.

Crystal clear amber in color. White foam that settles as you drink. Smell is sweet fruit and tropical juice that doesn’t really do justice to the well balanced bitter hop flavors in conjunction with a juicy fruit backend. Feel is crisp and sharp. I loved it.

I live in Georgia so this beer (made in Athens, GA) is plentiful at local restaurants and grocery stores.

Great beer too. A little more fruity than typical IPAs, I think.

Can poured into a pint glass

A: Pours golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Floral, citrus, tropical and stone fruit, pine, slight peppery herbal spice, crackery biscuity malt, and a touch of sweetness.

T: Tropical and fruit, mango, passion fruit, and apricot, floral, citrus, lemon, grapefruit, and lime, pine, peppery spice, crackery lightly toasty biscuity malt, and a touch of sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Stoked a buddy brought a can back for me from their trip to the south. Great balance and complexity in a super crushable package. Would definitely be a go to for me if I could get it on a regular basis.

Poured from a 16oz can into a shaker pint

Look: Clear pale gold with a thick white head

Smell: Citrus, tangerine, pine, and grapefruit with a nice crackery malt

Taste: Big burst of juicy hops on the attack with a smooth transition to a soft and mellow pint and honey cracker malt body.

Feel: Perfect balance billy bitterness and malt sweetness. No alcohol. Smooth and easy drinking. Solid carbonation.

Overall: A brilliant beer. Well worth picking up and one I wish I could have all the time.

Pours a clear medium straw color, minimal head, very clear. Served in a pint glass outside, couldn’t get any aroma. More of a west coast ipa, has a nice bitterness to it. Hops are tropical flavors; pineapple, mango. Good carbonation. Overall a pretty good west coast ipa.

Pure golden color with grapefruit notes, lead to full bodied beer with nice sense of fruit to bitterness. Maybe the reason it sells 5 times more than most. Refreshing for a late night or summer afternoon. Overall not my most favorite, it’s still sweet water strain 420.

Delightful IPA with a tropical aroma and mild bite. Nice foamy top upon pouring though it quickly dissipated. The string aroma quietly fades and the aroma takes on an appealing hoppy smell. A very good beer that I would regularly seek if available here. Sampled through the generosity of an Advocate.

Clear, golden pour with loads of dense foamy white head, good head retention and excellent lacing. Aroma is grapefruit & pine. Taste also has plenty of grapefruit notes, with a nice, but not overwhelming amount of bite. Feel is great. This is a good example of IPAs that started to make that bridge between the super bitter WC style and the juice bombs of today. Very well done.

Way over rated hazy ipa. I was really looking forward to this after reading the reviews. No comparison to Hazy Lil thing from Sierra Nevada or Bodhi from Columbus Brewing Co.
Pours with way too much head. Smell is best part, very hazy fruity.
Taste and mouth feel is not reminiscent of a hazy NE IPA.
Finish is resin dry bitter.

Pint can served in a nonic. BBD is 10/23/20.

Look- Slightly hazy, golden orange color. Impressive creamy off-white head with great retention and great lacing. Ample carbonation rising as it sits.

Smell- Big citrus (tangerine, orange peel, pink grapefruit, Meyer lemon), Tropical fruit (pineapple, mango, passion fruit and something I can't nail), a bit of dank cantaloupe, sweet malts. Light florals and pine notes.

Taste- Much of the same, tangy, juicy and sweet, slightly dank with a solid malt backbone. Great citrus profile here. A good bit of pine in there too.

Feel- Light/medium body, semi-dry and slightly sticky, nice carbonation on the tongue with a mild lingering bitterness. Really well balanced, easy drinking to say the least.

O- Easily one of the best IPAs that I have had, no hazy gimmicks here just a punch to the face of hop goodness. A must try.

Here I go off the reservation yet again, but I just can't find anything at all to complain about with this one. I happened upon this in a little out-of-the-way vape shop in northwestern Georgia, and it turned out to be well worth the side trip. It's the old-school WCIPA I've been looking for. Poured cold from a 12-ounce can into a snulip glass. Clear amber colored body, with a sudsy three-finger white head that left some pretty lacing as it settled. Big burst of bright and lively tropical fruit and citrus aromas upon opening the can, and these obtain throughout the temperature range as the beer warms. These are present on the palate as well, along with a punch of resiny pine and a slightly oily grapefruit-zest bitterness that lingers seemingly forever. Just enough malt backbone to provide a good canvas for the hops without being obtrusive or overly sweet. This is one that definitely lives up to the hype.

Slightly orange colour with a light haze and moderate carbonation, topped with 2 fingers of white head.

Smells of malt with a hint of citrus and pine.

The taste follows the nose but is more vibrant and colourful with no specific fruit standing out, but vibrant and lively on the tongue.

Medium body, with a hint of resin, and a medium to high carbonation level.

A beautiful standard of yesteryears American ipa. I got it south of Atlanta, and took what’s left of the 6pack home to California. First tasted July 2nd, it was canned June 20th of this 2020 year.

12oz can served in a snifter. Gift from @mr-jj. Canned on 7/17/19.

Pours a mostly clear bright orange-brass color with a biggish head and moderate carbonation. Smell is a little tropical and a lot of citrus.

Taste is a lot of orange zest. Not too much sweetness. Bitterness seems mostly related to the orange zest flavor.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Overall, solid beer.

From a can, pours as a slightly haze gold with lots of carbonation with a white fluffy one-finger head. Aroma of grapefruity hops. Taste is citrusy hops-forward with surprisingly little bitterness. At the back-end is a caramely malt sweetness. Mouth-feel is respectable with good 'sustain' in the lasting flavors. Very nice.

Tasted on tap from the craft beer (should have been called the IPA Tent because that was literally all they had) tent at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta during a Blink-182 concert. I ordered blind, just asking for a local beer and Athens, GA was the closest brewery they had in the midst of their Founders and Lagunitas selections. What a great surprise to get such an awesome beer to enjoy with the music. When I pulled up the BA rating later it was obvious others agree with me on how good the beer is.

Slightly hazy, medium gold beer. Nice, juicy tropical fruit on the nose. Tropical fruit explodes in the mouth with enough malt and yeast flavors to make it interesting and truly memorable. And that wasn’t just the music high talking!

Presented on tap in a pint glass.

It has a bright golden slighlty amberish color.
It smells hoppy, fruity and delicious.
It is well balanced, juicy and hoppy.
It feels very crisp and refreshing, not to heavy.
It's a pretty solid local IPA but dosent stand out from the many other Atlanta craft beers, definitely towards the top though.

F-very drinkable.

O- would buy again.

L: Pale golden with very very faint haze. About a finger's worth of Rocky foam that hangs around for a moment with decent retention and minimal lacing.

S: Piney mango, grapefruit, orange peel filled out with hoppiness and the slightest of malts.

T: Citrusy up front. Mainly grapefruit and orange peel. There's very slight mango/passionfruit. Sweetness compliments well. Malt backbone isn't overwhelming, but just noticeable. Hop bitterness in the finish is nice and just ever so slightly peppery. Balanced.

F: Moderate carbonation with a medium body. Juicy with a nice dry finish.

O: Just a superbly balanced, easy-drinking IPA. Get it!

Canned 12/11/19.

Hazy golden pour, soft head of foam that sits nicely on top.

Tropical fruit on the nose, overripe mango and an emergence of sweet malt coming through. Pineapple comes through as well as the beer opens up.

More tropical flavors, more citrus forward than the nose, with notes of passionfruit and grapefruit, lightly dank and with some sweet malt lingering on the back end.

Nice medium-bodied, good carb and a crisp, smooth finish.

A: The beer is somewhat clear yellow in color and has light hues of amber along with fine particulates floating in suspension and a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that hardly died down.
S; Moderate aromas of grapefruit and orange citrus zest are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of grapefruit pith and orange citrus with notes of dankness and hints of underlying caramel malts. There is little to no associated bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied, juicy, and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite sessionable and tastes like a West Coast version of a New England IPA.

Presentation: 12 oz. can with the canning date printed on the bottom. Served in a Samuel Adams pint glass.

Appearance: Very thick and rich three finger head that stays around for a long time and leaves thick, patchy lacing. It's a very slightly cloudy a pale gold.

Smell: The aroma is not that strong. There's mainly tropical fruit: Grapefruit and orange peels, mango and a bit of passion fruit and papaya. There's a slight hint of grains in the background.

Taste: Very bitter right up front followed up by strong citrus notes of grapefruit, tangerines, mango and a hint of candied pineapple. Very fruity but not overwhelmingly sweet.

Mouthfeel: Its quite dry and extremely smooth. The body is medium but leaning towards heavy with medium-high carbonation.

Overall: The name evokes thoughts of a light, easy drinking, sweet and fruity ale. The reality is this is a complex, heavier than average, fruity hop attack on the palate. And that's awesome! A very well made beer.

Shoutout to Mbgreg for this one!
