Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.60%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
A balanced, soft, and juicy IPA. Ripe passion fruit and citrus hop aroma lead to a full, fruit-forward hop flavor that washes over the palate, ending with subtle bitterness. Some folks say they don’t like hoppy beers, and to that we say that hops do not equal bitterness. Hops offer a whole world of flavors, not just bitterness. In Tropicália, they exude a luscious fruit journey your palate can enjoy over and over without fatigue.

L - 2-finger stubborn offwhite head atop a translucent yellow body.

S - tons of citrus, pineapple, mango.

T - follows the nose. Super citrus and super tropical. A bit of caramel in the middle. Low bitterness. Moderate-low sweetness. No booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - this reminds me of Jai Alai, but I like it more.

There is a reason Beer Connoisseur rated this one so high. I am not big fan of IPA; but this one is excellent! Pours a pale gold with a slight haze and nice head. Lots of interesting aromas - tropical fruit and a hint of pine. Goes down smooth and crisp. Has a nice snap of bitterness at the end, but not offensive or over done. Short aftertaste. If you are not a fan of IPA but still trying to find one that you like. Try this one, you will not regret it. Top of my IPA list.

Met one of the guys who opened the brewery randomly in FL. Him and his girlfriend gave me their last can to try as we couldn't get it in JAX. Just awesome, smooth, crisp and easy to see why it flies off the shelves in GA.

Tired it multiple times and have failed to be impressed. Don't know if my taste buds don't work but it does not,do it for me. Had other "fruity" IPAs that I prefer.

Another great Georgia IPA, a definite NE Style IPA. Hops and Malts are balanced. Smells of tropical fruit, taste follows. Followed by a somewhat piney slightly bitter tale. Another Classic, extremely hard to differentiate a clear best IPA in this state.

A: Pours with a creamy, off white, three finger head and a clear, straw gold body.
S: Immediate mango and stonefruit (peach in particular), along with pine and some malty notes, very juicy.
T: Immediately peachy and sweet with minimal bitterness and a nice (if understated malt backbone).
M: Upwards of medium body, not overly sticky.
O: It's very pleasant, and very accessible, but there's not much to it. I enjoyed it well enough, but I would buy this as a crowd pleaser at a party before I would ever buy it for myself.

12 oz can dated 6/13/18 poured into Funky Buddha snifter.

The guy at the beer store in Macon, GA and I struck up such a conversation that he couldn't let me leave without giving me one of these pro bono. Really nice guy.

This one pours a nice golden blush with a creamy cap of 1 finger. It leaves lots of pretty lace behind. Nice.

Aroma is mainly of orange peel, but also some pith, and as it's stirred up I get chunks of passion fruit and bread.

On a totally clean palate, I get lots and lots of passion fruit. This is supplemented by red grapefruit, and guava to a lesser degree. Tons of crackery, sharp aspirin-like bitterness. Orange pith and peel drives this to the finish line. Lingering resiny bitterness.

Feel is very crisp, though not clean, and leaves some interesting resin and starchy residue behind.

Overall, I'm not sure what I'm missing here as this is 11 points short of "world-class". I think this is a good IPA, but nothing adorable. It reminds me of a harsher, slightly fruitier version of Odell's Rupture (but not as good).
