Notes: A balanced, soft, and juicy IPA. Ripe passion fruit and citrus hop aroma lead to a full, fruit-forward hop flavor that washes over the palate, ending with subtle bitterness. Some folks say they don’t like hoppy beers, and to that we say that hops do not equal bitterness. Hops offer a whole world of flavors, not just bitterness. In Tropicália, they exude a luscious fruit journey your palate can enjoy over and over without fatigue.

12oz can served in a snifter. Gift from @mr-jj. Canned on 7/17/19.

Pours a mostly clear bright orange-brass color with a biggish head and moderate carbonation. Smell is a little tropical and a lot of citrus.

Taste is a lot of orange zest. Not too much sweetness. Bitterness seems mostly related to the orange zest flavor.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Overall, solid beer.

From a can, pours as a slightly haze gold with lots of carbonation with a white fluffy one-finger head. Aroma of grapefruity hops. Taste is citrusy hops-forward with surprisingly little bitterness. At the back-end is a caramely malt sweetness. Mouth-feel is respectable with good 'sustain' in the lasting flavors. Very nice.

Tasted on tap from the craft beer (should have been called the IPA Tent because that was literally all they had) tent at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta during a Blink-182 concert. I ordered blind, just asking for a local beer and Athens, GA was the closest brewery they had in the midst of their Founders and Lagunitas selections. What a great surprise to get such an awesome beer to enjoy with the music. When I pulled up the BA rating later it was obvious others agree with me on how good the beer is.

Slightly hazy, medium gold beer. Nice, juicy tropical fruit on the nose. Tropical fruit explodes in the mouth with enough malt and yeast flavors to make it interesting and truly memorable. And that wasn’t just the music high talking!

Presented on tap in a pint glass.

It has a bright golden slighlty amberish color.
It smells hoppy, fruity and delicious.
It is well balanced, juicy and hoppy.
It feels very crisp and refreshing, not to heavy.
It's a pretty solid local IPA but dosent stand out from the many other Atlanta craft beers, definitely towards the top though.

F-very drinkable.

L: Pale golden with very very faint haze. About a finger's worth of Rocky foam that hangs around for a moment with decent retention and minimal lacing.

S: Piney mango, grapefruit, orange peel filled out with hoppiness and the slightest of malts.

T: Citrusy up front. Mainly grapefruit and orange peel. There's very slight mango/passionfruit. Sweetness compliments well. Malt backbone isn't overwhelming, but just noticeable. Hop bitterness in the finish is nice and just ever so slightly peppery. Balanced.

F: Moderate carbonation with a medium body. Juicy with a nice dry finish.

O: Just a superbly balanced, easy-drinking IPA. Get it!

Reminds me of Dogfish Head’s flesh and blood. My current favorite IPA, glad I found this brew. Pours a nice white head with great lacing, smells of passion fruit and citrus, great beer.

Canned 12/11/19.

Hazy golden pour, soft head of foam that sits nicely on top.

Tropical fruit on the nose, overripe mango and an emergence of sweet malt coming through. Pineapple comes through as well as the beer opens up.

More tropical flavors, more citrus forward than the nose, with notes of passionfruit and grapefruit, lightly dank and with some sweet malt lingering on the back end.

Nice medium-bodied, good carb and a crisp, smooth finish.

Can from Hop City. Very easy drinker, yielding understated hop flavour. A little tropical. A good summer hoppy beer. A trip to Athens now in my thoughts.

A: The beer is somewhat clear yellow in color and has light hues of amber along with fine particulates floating in suspension and a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that hardly died down.
S; Moderate aromas of grapefruit and orange citrus zest are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of grapefruit pith and orange citrus with notes of dankness and hints of underlying caramel malts. There is little to no associated bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied, juicy, and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite sessionable and tastes like a West Coast version of a New England IPA.

Presentation: 12 oz. can with the canning date printed on the bottom. Served in a Samuel Adams pint glass.

Appearance: Very thick and rich three finger head that stays around for a long time and leaves thick, patchy lacing. It's a very slightly cloudy a pale gold.

Smell: The aroma is not that strong. There's mainly tropical fruit: Grapefruit and orange peels, mango and a bit of passion fruit and papaya. There's a slight hint of grains in the background.

Taste: Very bitter right up front followed up by strong citrus notes of grapefruit, tangerines, mango and a hint of candied pineapple. Very fruity but not overwhelmingly sweet.

Mouthfeel: Its quite dry and extremely smooth. The body is medium but leaning towards heavy with medium-high carbonation.

Overall: The name evokes thoughts of a light, easy drinking, sweet and fruity ale. The reality is this is a complex, heavier than average, fruity hop attack on the palate. And that's awesome! A very well made beer.

Shoutout to Mbgreg for this one!

Appearance: bright golden color (think macro pilsener) with very slight haze – not NE IPA-style, more like a slight chill haze. The head forms a ½-finger of off-white with fair retention.

Aroma: juicy, pulpy mango. Very fresh fruit; pineapple. In the background is sweet bready malt and caramel. Both malt and hops are well represented. Well balanced.

Flavor: resinous initially, too much so. It drowns out any other flavors until the resin fades. Later flavors are much cleaner and the hops stand out in harmony with the sweet malt. The malt and the late hop flavors are well balanced.

Mouthfeel: heavy-medium. This would fill you up. To drink multiple would be a meal.

Overall: if this beer’s finish could instead be the entire beer, this would be a better beer. This is worthwhile, but given the quickly increasing caliber of IPAs (especially in my market, Denver), this beer is just good among greats. Verdict: I’m glad I got to try it, but I would not buy it again.

Have had this beer multiple times from both a can and from a tap. The pour results in a cloudy dark-orange/amber look with a thick off white head. The smell is strong and features a plethora of fruits, mostly citrus and light. Taste is reflective of the smell with a citrus hop flavor that has a slight bitterness. Mouth feel is light with moderate carbonation. Overall, it is fruity but in a refreshing way and not sour. There is still some bitterness and hops present. This is one of my favorite IPA's.

Got in a BIF from KMitch. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carrbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.6%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Not as intensely tropical/juicy as I expected, but rather old school feeling IPA. Nice Centennial, Galaxy, and Citra profile. Centennial seems to have the most presence. Very juicy, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. No real complaints.

Bought this at Trader Joe's. Checkout lady said they couldn't keep it in stock. I'm on the hunt for local beers that kick ass, and this beer has been highly rated.

Pale, cloudy, golden-yellow with thin head of white foam. Nice orange citrus aroma. Nice bright, thick, crisp hops at first. Some caramel malt in the background. Refreshingly bitter. Grapefruit pith sourness on finish lingers. Don't notice the 6.6% alcohol much. A little fizzy on the tongue. Medium-bodied.

Overall, refreshing and quite grapefruity, but not obnoxiously sour. Easy to drink, but has backbone. Keeper.

Damn fine beer here. To the specifics....
L - Exactly what a classic IPA should look like, maybe lighter in "tone" than some, not over-malted.
S - Great aromas of Pacific meets West Coast hops - some dank, pineapple, citrus
T - Here is where this beer over-delivers... perfect hoppy balance, a great weight of 6.5 with 65 IBU (spot on for my taste)... perky. Delicious. Exactly what you smelled and then some...
F - Great carbonation, lively, stays sticky to the glass. Never 'heavy' or boozy.
O - A great beer, to seek out again.
Had on tap at Brewer's Republic 10.5.18 in COS, CO

L - 2-finger stubborn offwhite head atop a translucent yellow body.

S - tons of citrus, pineapple, mango.

T - follows the nose. Super citrus and super tropical. A bit of caramel in the middle. Low bitterness. Moderate-low sweetness. No booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - this reminds me of Jai Alai, but I like it more.

There is a reason Beer Connoisseur rated this one so high. I am not big fan of IPA; but this one is excellent! Pours a pale gold with a slight haze and nice head. Lots of interesting aromas - tropical fruit and a hint of pine. Goes down smooth and crisp. Has a nice snap of bitterness at the end, but not offensive or over done. Short aftertaste. If you are not a fan of IPA but still trying to find one that you like. Try this one, you will not regret it. Top of my IPA list.

Another great Georgia IPA, a definite NE Style IPA. Hops and Malts are balanced. Smells of tropical fruit, taste follows. Followed by a somewhat piney slightly bitter tale. Another Classic, extremely hard to differentiate a clear best IPA in this state.
