Pale yellow color was much lighter than most other beers in the style. The head was just one finger thick at its peak before settling into a thin ring of bubbles. The smell was tropical, bringing to mind mango, pineapple, guava, and passion fruit. The taste was exactly like the smell, just turned up a couple of notches. The tropical fruit tastes were very soothing, while the bitterness was low. There wasn't even a hint of booziness, which is amazing for a 9 percent ABV beer. The body felt soft and silky slick. This DIPA was damn easy to drink.

A: poured from a 32 oz plastic growler (don't judge) into a pint glass, orange amber with a short white head that dissipates leaving little lacing, clear

S: fruit salad reminiscent of Tropicalia, mango, pineapple, papaya, guava, orange, mango, lemon, grapefruit

T: follows smell, tropical fruit salad, flavors as listed above, sweet fruit mixed with a grapefruit bitterness at the finish, exquisite

M: sticky sweet with lower carbonation

O: Creature Comforts is simply making the best beer in Georgia and giving a run for the money on the best beers in the country. Back on the map Peach State!!!

Had this on draft at their 1 year anniversary party. This beer holds up against all the north east big boy Double ipas. I was seriously suprised at how awesome this Double was. I thought it would be good but this blew away my expectations. Awesome beer.

Special beer, real good beer
Biggest thing in my itty bitty glass
Poured it in and it made me feel right
Wish the bliss could never take flight

Counter pressure filled 32oz growler from Barrel and Barley (Woodstock, GA). 16.99. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.

Pours pale golden orange with almost two fingers of white head. The bubbles recede to wisps accross the surface and a thin ring that leaves some sizeable clumps of lace.

There are some huge juicy citrus aromas going on here. Orange, grapefruit, lemon zest, papaya and a little vague sweetness. Smells great.

The taste accurately projects the nose. Orange, grapefruit, lemon, piney mango, papaya, cracker and some faint alcohol. The sweetness seems to come more from citrus than from any discernible malts and the bitterness is understated. Quite tasty and dangerously easy to drink.

The body is on the lighter side of medium with fluffy carbonation. Finishes with citrus peels, piney mango and hints of cracker.

Creature Comforts brings on another excellent hoppy offering with Cosmik Debris. It reminds me of their Tropicalia, just turned up about 30%. Excellent nose and taste but a little less body and malt sweetness than I prefer in double IPAs. This is a great beer from an up-and-coming brewery to look out for!

A: Let me start by saying that I enjoy the "Haze Craze" as much as the next guy or gal, but my heart still belongs to these beautiful golden clear masterpieces. Along with that white foam cap and sticky icky lacing. Yes please!

A: Mango and papaya goodness at its best with just enough sweet candied maltiness to keep the grin stuck on my face.

T: Follows seemlessly with tropical fruit taking center stage, orange citrus coming in from the left, and sweet malt coming from the right. An attack on the tongue for sure.

F: Smooth and unexpectedly creamy considering it's appearance. Nice and bitter, but just enough sweetness to bring you back down from the high. Good carbonation and hides its 8.3% heft quite well.

O: Yup. I'm a fan. Always wanted to try something from Athens, GA's finest, and this does not disappoint. Cheers!

Really good, very reminiscent of Avery 20. Maybe a slightly less flavorful but better mouth feel and more drinkable in that its not as sticky. Great DIPA, relatively low ABV compared to many out there.

Appearance: Medium clarity yellow, one finger head good lacing.

Aroma/Flavor: Medium+ intensity, tropical fruit, with some residual sweetness. Zero bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium+ body, but still relatively dry and refreshing.

Overall: Tropicalia's big brother.

This is simple. It is as well sone of a DIPA as there is. Huge bursting citrus on the nose. Hint of pone accompanies the tropical notes in the beer. Mouthfeel is medium, it has a balancing malt backbone but avoids becoming sweet.

As close to the perfect DIPA as I have had. If you like up front hoppy, then tropical fruit, with very little malt then this is for you. So incredibly drinkable you will forget it is 8.3
Buy it if you can find it.

Poured on tap into a pint glass

Look - Dark golden in color, almost amber looking. Great lacing that stays present as you drink with very little head.
Smell - A fresh scent of mostly pine and hops is present.
Taste - Super clean, the hops, pine and malt all compliment each other well. The hops are moderately dry and makes for a very pleasant taste.
Feel - Smooth and light
Overall this is a terrific DIPA that is worth the try if you haven't had it before.

Amazing DIIPA from a Georgia brewery that is really bringing their A game. Had it in a growler and it was amazing. Citrus, pine, bitterness, it had everything. The smell really makes you want to dive right into this one. It has a bit of that onion funkiness that I like in DIIPA beers. Overall this brew is hitting on all cylinders. Watch out for CC. Haven't had a mediocre beer from them yet.

Incredible. Dank. Well-balanced and exceedingly flavorful. Did a side-by-side with fresh Pliny and would take this over Pliny without question. Creature Comforts is killing it.

Easily one of the best DIPAs I've had and certainly one that blows a lot of the most famous ones in the country out of the water (looking at you Dinner & Space Cake in particular).
L: Orange, slightly hazy with a big creamy off-white head that sticks around a long time for a high-alcohol beer.
S: like a danker, heavier Tropicalia times 1.5. Juicy, overripe citrus and more pine than Tropicalia with noticeable sweet malt
T: wow this is good. Tons of citrus (tangerine and orange) and noticeable bitterness with enough pine and malty sweetness to balance it out extremely well. Notes of tropical fruit and pineapple. Outstanding
F: light carbonation and an incredibly soft mouthfeel for a big beer, like drinking a giant citrusy tropical pillow. Medium body fits the style well. Drinkable as heck - almost dangerously so.
O: this is a top notch DIPA. One of the best beers I've had overall. Insanely drinkable with a truly unique mouthfeel for a double IPA and scarily well-balanced.

Poured from a growler (5 Points) Athens, GA

Look: translucent bronze/orange visual. Smaller head from the growler, but hung around for a while.
Smell: Smells very similar to Tropicalia. A lot of grapefruit, orange, pine, and resin. Vague malt.
Taste: very tasty. Tons of grapefruit, orange, and pine taste. Small amount of malt at the end. Not much bitterness. Taste much like it smells.
Feel: medium bodied, but extremely refreshing (not just for an DIPA, but for any style). Strong carbonation.
Overall: A lot like Tropicalia in many ways. Not quite as good, IMO, but will certainly enjoy finishing the rest of this growler. Fingers crossed that we see this packaged before too long. Creature Comforts continues their ascension!

A fantastic DIPA. Reminds me of a bigger version of Tropicalia, but with a darker color, and a bit more hoppy. Taste reminds me more of an IPA than a DIPA.

Honestly one of the most well balanced DIPAs I've ever had. It truly is like a perfect blend of West Coast masterpieces (Pliny) and the East Coast fruit bombs (Tree House, Trillium). 2016 is the first year they're canning Cosmik so get 'em if you can!

Look: caramel gold - touch of haze
Mouthfeel: medium
Smell: bold tropical, citrus, and touch of pine
Taste: Super hop forward as expected. Less malty than many, dry and even refreshing maybe. Very clean finish.
Overall: favorite DIPA. Not a style I usually love

With a little new, a little old; a little floral, a little earth; a little fruit, a little spice; the drier and crisper imperial IPA of Creature Comforts retains the high drinkability of standard American IPA but with an elevated alcohol content and the aroma and taste that layers the tastebuds with sheer hop complexity.

Surprisingly bright with a golden hue and a faint haze that casts against the glass, the ale releases a creamy white and speckling froth that towers to the rim. Equally bright aromas are fruity with tropical, citrus and melon with hints of herb, pepper and earth. Its taste is gentle against the mouth, layering it with light caramel and honey.

Calmly fading, the sweet malts soon give way to the full hop flavor that's radiant and juicy with apricot, cantaloup, pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, orange and juniper. Fruit punch comes to mind while the bitterness begins to mount. Smooth with its bitter grip on the throat, the rustic earthiness emerges with hints of garlic, chive, grass, wood and peppercorn.

Much drier, crisper and cleaner in texture than is common for imperial IPA, the texture is refreshing and drinkable to a high degree. Lingering bitterness keeps the palate dry while a deep and resinous finish of freshly shaven pine and citrus peel carry a floral and fragrant afterpalate with the earthiness that flirts with the earthy hops' dank side.
